Viv Roe Finals day 2025
Congratulations to our winners Jackie and Tim !
What a fabulous day we all had, the sun shone , we enjoyed delicious food with a glass or two of wine while watching sone great tennis. Thanks to everyone who supported the tournament throughout the summer and for playing today,

💪🏽 Come and join us at Baslow Sports Field and try the latest fitness sensation, Pickleball!

❤️ The Sports Field CIO have recently invested in Pickleball equipment including nets and bats. We are having a taster session on Sunday 24th August from 1pm to 4pm on the MUGA and would love to see you there!

☕️ There will be people on hand who can explain the rules for anyone who hasn’t tried it before. We will have teas and coffees in the club lounge after you have worked up a sweat on the court!

💪🏽 This truly is a game for all abilities and ages so please do come and give it a try!

We are running our successful strawberries and cream evening again, to get us all in the mood for Wimbledon. It is on 1st July 6pm onwards (Tuesday evening club night) come along and have a social game of tennis followed by strawberries and cream and a pimms or non alcoholic alternative. The cost is £5 per person, and you can pay on the night.

Chesterfield and District summer matches are now underway, and Baslow have entered two ladies teams and two mixed teams. A couple of matches have been played in April, in good weather for a change!
Baslow A mixed team had a tough match against Chesterfield A , losing by 5 sets to 3.
And Baslow A ladies had a really close match against Chesterfield A, just scraping a draw after a long match with two tie breaks, and play finally finishing at 9-30! Some good tennis was played and everyone really enjoyed it - well done ladies 👏

Viv Roe Finals day 22 September 2024
It was a rainy start and we all got a bit wet, but it dried up and we had a great days tennis !
Thank you to everyone who took part and to Judith who did a great job organising this annual event.

The ladies have had a great season in the Sheffield and District late summer league - finishing 2nd top !! We gained the same points as Barnsley (both only lost 1 match each). They pipped us to the top spot by 1 rubber.

This means the team will be promoted to division 2 next year, which is great news for all , and especially for our captains Anne and Jackie who have done a great job picking the teams.

With 14 players in our club who wanted to play, everyone played and contributed to our success 😁 Well done everyone 💪💪
