Full time, professional Martial Arts and fitness school in Basingstoke. The Martial Arts Classes that we teach include Kung Fu, Karate, Judo, Tai Chi, Ladies only Karate, Ladies only Kickboxing and Wheelchair Karate and Wheelchair Tai Chi. We have special children's only classes, split by age (4-6, 6-9 and 10-14 years old) plus dedicated adults only classes. For families we run family classes, so that you can all train together. Regardless of whether you want to learn Martial Arts for self protection / self defence, for fitness, for competition, for weight loss or simply for fun, we have a class suitable for you to train in. For those people looking to get fit, we run Martial Music Blast a high energy based fitness classes inspired by Martial Arts moves all choreographed to music. Our facilities are open during the day for morning classes. Afternoon classes start at 4:00pm and continue through the evening classes. As a Martial Arts Club we are registered with The British Judo Association, Martial Arts Standards Agency, British Chinese Council for Martial Arts, World Union of Karate Federations, Shikon Martial Arts and are accredited by Sport England with their 'Clubmark' quality Accreditation. Our coaches are all highly qualified and experience in their respective Martial Art and hold nationally coaching qualifications including Level 2, Level 3 Level 4, Level 5 and a Masters degree in Advanced Sports Coaching practice from Sheffield Hallam University. Four of our incredible students are competing in a Tough Mudder to raise money for Berkshire MS Therapy Centre. Please check out the following message from the group, and donate if you are able❤️

Hello everyone,

We are currently preparing for the 15k, 20 obstacle tough mudder course on the 19th of September 2026.

We would like to fundraise for the Berkshire MS therapy centre, which is a facility close to our hearts in helping a family member who receives treatment there regularly.

MS is a lifelong neurological condition affecting your brain and spinal cord. It causes a range of challenges such as mobility issues, extreme fatigue and heat sensitivity as well as mental health based struggles.

It currently is incurable but there are treatments that can slow the progression of MS and help ease symptoms.

The Berkshire MS centre provides services such as physiotherapy, counselling and oxygen therapy to those with MS.

Every year it costs around £500,000 to keep this centre open, so we are aiming to raise £500 by completing the tough mudder.

Any donations to our cause would be greatly appreciated

Earlier this summer we set you the challenge of Shin Gi Tai Across the World!
We asked you to bring your SGT tops on holiday and get the best photos you could. We had incredible photos back. And I have to say I’m very jealous of all of your holiday spots!
We will be picking our favourites shortly, but I just want to say thank you to everyone who has participated. It’s awesome to see SGT still be a part of your lives even out of the dojo. I’m also very impressed you managed to remember to pack your T shirts!

We're back open now after our annual summer closure. I had a great holiday and lots of active rest.

I wanted to do a shout out to Ocean Turtle in Basingstoke, (https://www.oceanturtlediving.com) who are just down the road from us. I popped in there to buy a new mask and fins for some snorkelling in Kimmeridge Bay.

I came out with those, plus a three day Scuba Diving trip to their location in Spain -

I arrived from the Airport on the Friday has time to put my stuff in my room and grab my swim gear to head to the Dive School.

I'm a later starter to Diving, having only started in March, whilst on holiday with Sensei Ollie. So this was part refresher but mainly learning new skills.

Kerrie who is a Platinum Course Director (She's the Head Sensei) and I had a chat about what I wanted to cover as part of the qualification and what my elective subjects were going to be.

I had a couple of fun dives on the Friday afternoon, before getting down to work on Saturday with four dives and a couple on Sunday.

If you're looking to get into diving, this is a great place, she and her co-owner, Edwin, gave very clear and concise instructions and where necessary, as I'd neglected some of the fundamentals (Kihon) on a dive, I was admonished. It was hardwork, but with her encouragement, directed feedback, answering my endless questions and watching/copying her I made some really good progress and also ended up with my next level Dive Qualification.

It was also interesting that she corrected a couple of what I hadn't seen as issues because I was taught a certain way previously. One a major one, that made a massive difference to how well I could dive and the other affecting the longevity of each dive. We chatted about coaching Scuba Diving and Martial Arts and came to the conclusion that they're both the same, it's all about the fundamental skills being taught correctly.

I saw loads of fish and Octopus. Swam in a shoal of 100+ Barracuda and ended up diving for 20 minutes with a shoal of about 50 Rainbow Wrasse all around me, apparently I'm the King of the Rainbow Wrasse, they must have liked the T Shirt I wore.
