Basingstoke Model Aero Club

Basingstoke Model Aero Club BMAC is a friendly club operating from a superb farm site just to the north of the village of Deane, near Basingstoke. Welcome to Basingstoke Model Aero Club.

We are affiliated to the national governing body for the sport, the BMFA. No new membership are currently being taken. We're a club run for it's members by the members, that tries to support and encourage all forms of model aviation. You'll find a vast selection of members flying planes, helicopters, gliders, multirotors and FPV. If you're not a member and are looking for a club, then the best thi

ng to do in the first place is either pop down and visit us, (Sunday afternoons are normally best for this, weather permitting) or email the membership secretary via [email protected]

Thanks for dropping by.

Last year we held our 20th Electric Flight Fly-In, there have been a lot of changes in our hobby sport in that time, but some things have never changed, the enjoyment, the enthusiasm and the innovation.

Read about our event in the RCM&E.

This is there best ever picture BTW.

Many, many years ago when I first joined this club one of the tag lines that appeared in club pamphlets was Twined with Barbados Scale Modelers, as we at the time had a Bajan contingent of members.

Over the decades that link has long since faded away. Recently by chance I came across this webpage (https://barbadosrc.org/) which makes me wonder, does this club still exist?

I've been looking back at the history of the last 20 years of our Electric Fly-In, and going through some of the names of the past who attended over the years. Chris Glods, John Stennard, Cyril Carr, John Ranson and David Chinery who was with us this last weekend.

I've also been looking at Dominic Mitchell

A reminder that on Sunday, 7th September we celebrate our 20th Electric Fly-In, the biggest event in our calendar.

We also have GREAT NEWS;
Courtesy of Essential RC, and following on from their support last year, Hobby King has very kindly donated 2 superb models for prizes in this year’s raffle.

So up for grabs are a HobbyKing Viper 64, and a Durafly T-28 Trojan. All you need to get them flying is a winning raffle ticket, battery and Radio.

For more details, check out our website.

BMAC SCALE DAY 2025

A big thank you to every one who came along and to the Scale Day on Sunday, and to Bob and Peter for providing the food.

We had a very good turn out, and although we had a northerly crosswind all day the conditions were very flyable, and it didn't stop a constant line of models taking to the skies.

We also had a goodly number of guest from over clubs attend, with some fascinating models.

The trophy for best scale model went to Mike Inwood's, Hawker Seafury. A runners-up prize for something quirky went to the Autogyro of Andy Nash, and a consolation prize to Brian after the unfortunate lost his Flair Magnatilla.

Here's a collection of pictures from Sunday.
