Great Pen Wood Hare and Hounds - A round of the SEEC Hare and Hounds Championship.

This is the last time riders will have the chance to compete at this beautiful forest venue near Highclere. A huge amount of work has already gone into securing the venue for this year, but unfortunately, due to new plans for the land, we have been informed that this will be the last time we will be permitted to use the venue, so make sure you don’t miss out.

For the final edition, the Wayback MCC team will be pulling out all the stops, making the best of the trails created by SETRA over the past few years, and adding new flowing sections to ensure everyone can enjoy the day.

The format of the event is a ‘Hare and Hounds’ with riders competing for three hours to complete multiple laps of the six mile course which is suitable for beginners, weekend warriors and seasoned competitors alike.

NEW EVENT DATE

Due to the current high risk of wildfires, the Wayback MCC Great Pen Wood Hare and Hounds (SEEC H&H) will be postponed to Sunday the 27th of September.

The decision was not taken lightly, and has been made in consultation with Forestry England who have seen forest fires take place on their estates in recent weeks, including in the New Forest.

All riders have had their entries carried over to the new date and entries will remain open.

SEEC Hare and Hounds

Entries opening soon!

Due to personal commitments, SETRA have decided that they are not in a position to host the event this year. The SEEC Committee would like to thank SETRA for their stewardship of the venue over the past few years and are pleased to confirm that Wayback MCC will host the event for 2026.

Subject to Forestry approvals (currently ongoing) we hope to open entries in the coming weeks. The event will take the form of a three hour hare and hounds, drawing on SETRAs course planning but utilising the experience of Wayback MCC who’ve hosted rider favourites such as The Wallop Enduro, Inwood Copse, and Fryingdown Hare and Hounds.

The Inwood Copse Hare and Hounds - 10th May

Please find attached the event programme including Final Instructions and Riders List.

A few reminders ahead of the day:
- Helmets must be in good condition (no mounts, screws or visible serious damage), and carry an ACU sticker. If you do not have a compliant helmet, your helmet may be impounded for the duration of the event and you will not be permitted to start.
- Strictly enduro rear tyres only. FIM/ ACU Spec is 13mm tread depth. We recommend Michelin Enduro Medium as supplied by SEEC sponsors Endurotyres.com or Dibtech Motorcycles.
- No noisy machines. Random noise testing will take place.
- An Environmental Mat is required for the refuelling area.
- There is no overnight camping.

What are you doing next Sunday? 👀

Get your entry in now for the Inwood Copse Hare and Hounds!

This incredible private venue has only been used once before, by us back in 2023. The event received rave reviews with some top riders saying it was the best forest H&H they’d ever ridden.

We are plotting a four-five mile course which will be fun and flowing for all abilities. This woodland venue includes mixed forestry, single track, open grassland and gentle undulation.

Classes range from Championship and Expert for the most competitive riders, Veterans for the seasoned rider, Clubman for the weekend warrior, and Sportsman for the newcomer. All are welcome.
