A little bit of spinning down the SA1 Marina this wet and grey morning.

This year my results from spinning have been awful to say the least with just mackerel, a few knocks and some foul hooked bait fish but perseverance paid off this morning with 3 nice sized schoolies, 1 been my biggest fish on a lure! Landed (figuratively and literally!)

1st fish caught on a mepps fish and this just showed my inexperience as a lure fisherman as the fish was firmly hooked in the mouth by all 3 barbs of the treble (as you can see in the 3rd pic), it took me a good 10 mins to get the lure out but eventually I did!

After this debacle I switched back to just a single hook jelly lure which swiftly got my the next 2 fish!

Unfortunately now back to the grind at work!

Arrived very quuckly and definitely some good bits here.
Looking forward to trying the kicker beads and oval grip floating beads on some rigs ill be build this weekend!

31st session of the year lastnight. Hit two marks for the evening, starting at knab rock from 9pm till there wasnt any water at my feet and then over to the Prince of Wales dock just to finish off my bait.

3 rods out at Knab, 1 big rod with a wiretrace dongle pulley baited up with whole scad, or half a bluey and lance cast to the right amongst the rocks.
A 2nd big rod with a long running ledger baited up with squid and sent straight out as far as I could.
And a 3rd smaller rod with tipped feathers using squid, frozen lug or a mix of the 2 flicked out infront of me.

2 new toys been used tonight. 1st been the pole rod rests from Tomos Leonard, which performed very well! Easy to use, compact and no faults (potential or otherwise) to be seen. If you fancy some yourself then drop him a DM!

2nd new toy is a meat tenderizer, having seen TideLine Fishing and Billyfishing using them to great effect I decided to give it a punt.
First impressions are, frankly, get yourself one! Everything bar the lug had a gentle bash before been whipped up and the amount of juices coming out were amazing!
Bites and knocks through the evening were almost immediate and constant (shame the hook ups were not haha 😅 )

After about about an hr I got my 1st fish of a small Huss, result! Caught on the running ledger on a 4/0 dongle with double squid.

Several hrs later with many knocks from smaller fish the water at my feet had gone, a small tide last night, but I still had bait left so a short hop to old faithful, Prince of Wales dock.

2 small rods out with tipped feathers, 1st cast I think landed on the head of my 2nd fish of the evening as he hooked up in 10 seconds! A nice sized goby.
A few more rattles after that but after an hour and half I had used the remainder of my bait, time for home!
