Well, we’ve been busy lately! 😮‍💨

Over the last few weeks we have held so many School Games at the Island Oval and it has been great to see the hundreds and hundreds of Students come down and enjoy their Games! 🏏🏟️

We’ve held several Bro Morgannwg Games, and last week held a festival for which included the following;

🏏 Weekend Results & Upcoming Fixtures 🏏

So near and yet so far… 💔 However, a lot of positives to take forward with us as we enter June, knowing that we are turning the corner! 💪🏻

🟣⚫️ 1st XI

Opposition: Cardiff CC 3rd XI (SEWCL Div.4)

Result: Lost by 3 Wickets

Match Highlights: Batting first, Captain Ashley Baker continued his fine form with an impressive 56, and together with Lee Morgan (48) put on 128 for the 1st Wicket 👏🏻 That Platform allowed Amila Mathisha to do what he does best…. 💣 as he smashed 61 from just 32 balls with 4 Sixes 😮‍💨 We ended up on 272-5 from our 40 with plenty of momentum!

Cardiffs chase started well, with their openers putting on over 100 for the first wicket as well. We chipped away picking up wickets at crucial times, and despite 2 from the Captain (2-42) and Ieuan Williams (2-49) Cardiff got to their target with 1 ball left… 😫

Credit to both sides for an amazing game of Cricket 👏🏻 We’re gutted, but we know it’s there… 💪🏻

🟣⚫️ 2nd XI

Opposition: St Fagans 3rd XI (SEWCL Div.7)

Result: Lost by 10 Wickets

Match Highlights: Our 2nd Team hosted a strong St Fagans side. Put in to Bat first we made 53, which the Visitors chased down without loss. Credit to the XI that went out there and continued to give it their all 👏🏻 With availability getting better, we know we’re picking it up!

Tough results this weekend, but there is plenty to be proud of and even more to look forward to! 💪

We had 3 50s over the weekend, including a brilliant Captains knock by Ashley Baker in the Welsh Cup Preliminary Round 👏

Perhaps the biggest thing to be proud of this weekend, is a show of our Character...

Our 2nd XI went up to Llantwit Fardre with just 9, with 18 Members unavailable (pesky Exams!). The easy thing to do would have been to concede the game and lose points, but that's not what we're about.

Like some other Clubs, we've been going through a transition, a period of change, and we know we're closer than ever to turning that corner. It's been tough at times, but we don't run away from a challenge.

Everyone is playing their part in moving this Club forward, and we are closer than ever to turning that corner 💪🦌🟣⚫

It’s been a strong start to the Summer across our Junior Section! 💪🏻

A brilliant all-round performance from the U15s last night secured an 8-wicket victory over Llandaff CC in the Cardiff & Vale Junior Cricket League! 👏

After restricting Llandaff to 75 all out, we chased the target in style, finishing on 79-2. The standout moment of the match came from James Elward-Grey, who produced a spell to remember with his first ever hat-trick and incredible figures of 5 wickets for just 4 runs 🔥🎩

A huge team effort and a night James in particular will never forget — well done boys! Keep it up! 🦌💜🏏

Well, that went swimmingly... Literally. 🏊‍♂️🌧️

So grateful to the British weather for providing the ultimate cricket experience on opening weekend as both matches got to the half-way point before the rain stopped any further play 🙄

Our players have been practicing their indoor net game for months, and it’s good to see that training being put to use... indoors. Again.
