🏆 First Game of the Season – Away
The Tigers got their new season underway today with an away trip to Holker Old Boys.
It was a shaky first half from the Tigers, as we were slow out of the blocks and Holker were by far the better team. The first half ended 6–1 to Holker, leaving the Tigers with a lot to do after the break.
After a positive team talk and plenty of encouraging words from both coaches and the players themselves, the Tigers came out in the second half with a completely different attitude.
They worked hard, battled for every ball and, most importantly, never let their heads drop.
The Tigers managed to pull the score back, with the game eventually finishing 7–4 to Holker Old Boys.
Despite the result, the Tigers were a great credit to themselves. They continued to work together right until the final whistle and showed fantastic character to keep fighting after a difficult first half.
⭐ COACHES' PLAYER OF THE MATCH – ALFIE SAUNDERS ⭐
A huge congratulations to our new goalkeeper Alfie Saunders, who made several crucial saves throughout the game and kept the Tigers in the contest when they needed him most.
👏 Well done, Alfie!
And well done to the whole team, who really impressed the coaches with their attitude, teamwork and determination during that second half.
There are plenty of positives to take into the next game.
