**Furness Cavs U8’s @ the Vickerstown Summer Tournament**
Cavs played in one of their final tournaments of the season on a breezy Saturday morning at Vickerstown.
The boys were pitched in a strong group of Furness Rovers, Swarthmoor Yellows, Walney Yellows and Millom Reds. This made for some excellent, tight games across the patch, with a spread of points across the group of teams. The standard of footie was brilliant to watch 👏
After a little subdued showing at the Celtic tournament last week, the coaches encouraged the boys to give it their all, to work as a team and most importantly to have fun. The boys did exactly that, and went out and showed excellent energy levels all around the pitch, across all games. From some safe hands in goal and solid lines at the back, to energetic midfielders and pacey attacks, the Cavs boys were certainly on it, finishing top of their group ⚽️
It was a repeat fixture from last weeks Celtic tournament as Cavs played Hawcoat Park again in a semi final. It was another close game but on this occasion the Cavs boys edged it and continued onto the final where they met Walney Yellows for the second time of the tournament….
Cavs and Walney Yellows have had a number of belting games over the course of the season, full of action, entertainment…… and nerves for the coaches and parents! The final was no exception as a last minute equaliser from Walney took the game to penalties, where ultimately Cavs took the win and lifted the trophy 🏆
It was a brilliant Cavs performance throughout and the coaches and parents were super proud of the boys 🙌
Thanks to Vickerstown for hosting another great tournament. The Cavs boys have enjoyed the Vickerstown tournament over recent seasons, and this was no exception.

A brilliant end to the season for the team….Up the Cavs! 🩵⚽️
