Our first ever mini-islanders team took part in their first tournament yesterday as U6s playing up in the U7 age group. They all did absolutely amazing playing against teams with 12 months already behind them, put in a great challenge and all came away with smiles on their faces. We would like to wish them all the best in their first grasroots season as Barrow Island U7s in September 😁⚽️🔴⚫️

Paul has been nominated for his dedication over the last 24 months to local grassroots football. He has started up his own Mini Islanders, collaborating with St George's School to ensure those who aren't able to access their grassroots can.

Well done to our U9s today who returned again to the Askam United Junior Football Club tournament after they were rained off last week ⛈️☔️

Some brilliant football was played by all the teams in great close games of end to end football, making for an entertaining morning ⚽️

The final games of the season for our U9s who came away as shield winners. Well done Team. The boys are now looking forward to their presentation night before playing our own tournament in August and progressing to U10s 💪🏻

Our U6s had another taster game tonight, this time playing against Hawcoat Park Junior Football Club thanks for coming down they all played fantastic 👏🏻. The weather was fantastic down at Cav Park which made for a great game to watch. Both teams played some really good football and they all came off smiling at the end 😀

Edie - Played some great football and made loads of brilliant tackles to win the ball. Excellent challenges throughout 💪🏻

Harry - Really strong winning and protecting the ball and some great forward runs getting himself on the scoresheet 🫶🏻

Isaac - Made loads of good tackles and dribbles and got his first ever goal for team, really well done Isaac⚽️

Elijah - Some great football winning the ball and driving forward to score some great goals 💪🏻

Jacob - played a great game of football, really good winning the ball, great passes and crosses and also got himself on the score sheet 🏃🏼‍♂️
