Welcome to Portmore Golf Park & TOPTRACER Range set in the heart of North Devon on the outskirts of Barnstaple within 1 mile of the A361.

27 holes consisting of the 9 hole Landkey par 3 course and Barum 18 hole course. Whether you wish to become a member or pay and play on the day all visitors are welcome. The dress code for the Landkey course is smart casual and more traditional for the Barum c

ourse. We have a 21 bay TOPTRACER golf range, floodlit and fully undercover, using 'proper golf balls' with viewing area and seating for the family, a 'proper' putting and chipping green, selection of golfing accessories, and trolley hire facilities, professional lessons, restaurant and bar. We are a family run business where quality and service is our main objective. Our aim is to provide a centre for all golfing abilities. Vouchers are available from reception for food & drink as well as the golf courses and are ideal as a gift for friends and family. We also stock vouchers for our professional Dan should you wish to buy lessons for a present.

What a fantastic weekend we’ve had at the club! We’ve been exceptionally busy, and it’s brilliant to see the clubhouse buzzing 👏

Tomorrow, Bank Holiday Monday, we’ll be closing slightly earlier at 6pm.

Well, we’ve spent the last few months desperate for rain… safe to say we’ve got it now 😂🌧️

Absolutely chucking it down today and it looks like there’s plenty more on the way over the next few days.

The range is busy though! Nice to see everyone making the most of the covered bays and getting some practice in while the weather does its thing.

If you’re stuck for something to do in the rain, come and hit some balls ⛳️

We’ve seen a few old Portmore vouchers turn up over the years, but this one might take the prize.⛳️

Issued in February 2004 — a little over 22½ years ago.

For a bit of perspective, back then Facebook had only just launched, YouTube didn’t exist, the first iPhone was still three years away… and apparently our gift vouchers were being built to last.

We have to admire the commitment. 22 years, several house moves perhaps, and somehow this little piece of Portmore history has survived.

Sadly, its golfing days are now behind it — but it certainly gave us a smile when it arrived at the desk.

Nice try. We genuinely respect the optimism. 👏

🏃‍♂️💨 And he’s off…

It’s funny how people sometimes don’t think of sneaking onto a golf course without paying as stealing.

You probably wouldn’t walk into a shop, take something and leave without paying… a round of golf isn’t really any different! ⛳️

Anyway… onto tonight’s entertainment.

Tonight we spotted a gentleman out playing at Portmore who hadn’t paid.

When approached, he confidently explained that he was a member and gave us his name — “Simmons… with a Y.”

No problem… we’ll just pop inside and check the membership list.

Apparently, this was the exact moment “Mr Simmons” remembered he had somewhere VERY important to be. 😂

Cue a sprint off the golf course, followed by a rather enthusiastic getaway in the car. 🏃‍♂️💨🚗💨

What a fantastic Ladies Open! ⛳️💚

Our biggest one to date and what an amazing day it was!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and took part. We couldn’t do it without you, and we’re so grateful for your continued support.

39 teams and 116 players overall! 🏌️‍♀️👏

A massive thank you also to our wonderful team and all of our volunteers, who worked so hard throughout the day to make the event such a huge success.

Our Ladies Committee work incredibly hard every year, and it’s so lovely to see this fantastic event growing year on year. 💕

We’ve already had so much interest for next year, and we can’t wait to make it bigger and better again!

⚠️ DRIVING RANGE SAFETY – PLEASE READ ⚠️

A tragic accident at a driving range in Northern Ireland is a sobering reminder of just how seriously range safety needs to be taken.

In 2010, 16-year-old Craig Woods tragically lost his life after being accidentally struck by a golf ball hit by his older brother in the neighbouring bay. Craig had moved into his brother’s bay to retrieve a ball at the moment his brother hit his shot.

It was a freak and incredibly sad accident, but it highlights how quickly something can go wrong on a driving range.

Our driving range has been extremely busy recently, which is fantastic to see. However, we’ve also had a couple of close calls, so we wanted to put out a polite but important reminder about range safety.

We’ve seen people sharing bays and standing too close to someone swinging, as well as people attempting to walk out onto the range to retrieve golf balls.

Please remember that golf clubs are being swung at high speed and golf balls are travelling at serious speeds. Being hit by either can cause a very serious injury.

For everyone’s safety:

🏌️ One person hitting in a bay at a time
↩️ Always stand well behind the person hitting
🚫 Never walk out onto the range to retrieve a ball
👨‍👩‍👧 Children must be closely supervised at all times
👀 Please be aware of the people hitting in the bays around you

We want the range to be a relaxed, enjoyable place for everyone, but it is also an environment that needs to be treated seriously and with respect.

Please give people plenty of room, keep behind anyone hitting and never enter the bay itself.

A little bit of awareness goes a long way towards keeping everybody safe.
