I've finally got around to posting about our Learn to Skate and Introduction to Artistic Dance session from last Saturday 😀
Firstly well done to Lucy for passing her Merit 5 and to Esme for passing her Merit 1 and to Rosie and Noah who collected their certificates for Merit 1. Again we had some amazing skills from our more experienced skaters and our newbies and less experienced skaters who were also fantastic. Some of the skills on the Merits are hard, so some maybe easier to do than others, but keep up all the great work those Merits are in sight.
Our dance session started off with one foot spin practice and then we worked on the Glide Waltz and a new dance The Skaters March.
Again we had some amazing newbies giving it a go. Our experienced skaters are really picking up Artistic Dance.
Also our lovely ladies Jane and Tania are both recovering well after a couple of falls. You guys are really hard-core. Look after yourselves ❤️
Our video this week is Abbie demonstrating The Skaters March and an easier version of it with scoots and chasses.

Watch this space for both our usual Saturday Disco sessions starting back up and our Learn to Skate sessions. We may have to alter our Learn to Skate sessions to a different day/venue due to Abbie's work rota.

This Saturday, 29th August
It's a Bank holiday weekend and I know some of you are away, but we have Learn to Skate 2-3pm and Introduction to Artistic Dance 3-4pm.This week for our dance session we are working on Free Dance. That means spins and jumps 😀
£5 for one session, £7.50 for both sessions.
Merit books £3.

We had a lovely afternoon practising dances yesterday. There are lots of steps to learn, lots of new skatey terms, and lots to memorise but everyone did really well 😀 This is Abbie and Mylor doing the Olympic Foxtrot. This was the first time that Mylor had done this dance. She was amazing 👏

Well done to our Learn to Skate gang on their great work this afternoon.
Jane did a fantastic job of passing her Merit 2 and 3.
Sam passed his Merit 3 today.
Sophie is nearly there on her Merit 3.
Lucy and Mylor are working hard on their Merits 5 and 6.
Some of the elements are not easy so you should be really proud of yourselves 😀
We also had another Introduction to Artistic Dance session which covered Glide Waltz, Edges and Arabesques with Swings, The Olympic Foxtrot and the first section of The Carlos Tango. Again these dances are hard, so give yourselves a big pat on the back. There are lots of terms to learn and lots of steps.
Hopefully it will get easier each time ❤️

We have a Lean to Skate session on this Saturday at Holsworthy Leisure Centre 2-4pm
2-3pm is our Learn to Skate coached session where you can work on skills and hopefully pass some Merits 😀
3-4pm is Introduction to Artistic Dance. Last time we worked on The Glide Waltz and Edges and Arabesques. What will it be this time 🤔
£5 per session or £7.50 for both.

I will get certificates printed this week as well 😀🙈
