Another Pre-Season friendly done! ⚽️🔥

The lads were back in action today for another pre-season friendly, taking on a very good Junior Tykes Blue side.

Once again, holidays meant we were down to just five players, but that didn’t stop the lads from putting in another fantastic shift. They dug deep, worked incredibly hard for each other and showed the determination and team spirit that has become a real feature of this group. Despite having no substitutes, they managed their energy brilliantly and eventually ran out winners on the day. 👏

There were some great performances from both sides, with plenty of good football on display. Both goalkeepers were outstanding and made some absolutely fantastic saves throughout the game, keeping their teams in it on numerous occasions.

We also had two fantastic goals from Billy and Alister. Billy’s goal was a cheeky piece of skill, using a clever touch before producing a lovely lobbed finish. Alister then produced an absolute thunderbolt from around 10 yards out that flew into the net! 🚀⚽️

With every player putting in such a huge effort, it was incredibly difficult to choose a Man of the Match. Any one of the five could have taken the award, but in the end it went to Alister for his determination, hard work and, of course, that wonder goal! 🏆👏

Just one more pre-season friendly to go now before the games start getting serious and we get down to business in the league. The hard work continues! 💪⚽️

Today the boys took on a very strong Redfearns side in a pre-season friendly, and despite only having five players available due to holidays, the lads put in an absolutely fantastic performance. 👏⚽️

It was a really close and competitive game from start to finish, with both teams playing some great football. The boys showed brilliant teamwork, worked hard for each other and never gave up, with Redfearns eventually just edging the game by a single goal. 🔥

One of the biggest positives was that every outfield player got on the scoresheet, which shows the attacking threat we have right across the team.

A special mention also has to go to our keeper Bailey, who once again pulled off some absolutely amazing saves and kept us in the game right until the final whistle. 🧤👏

Considering the boys were up against a very good side with only five players available, the performance was something they can be really proud of. Plenty of positives to take into the rest of pre-season and lots to build on. 💪

Last weekend, the lads took part in their final summer tournament at Dodworth. It was another warm one, but the heat didn’t faze the team one bit, and they once again showed the fantastic attitude, determination and togetherness that we have come to expect from this brilliant group of players.

The team finished top of the league format, putting in some excellent performances along the way and playing some fantastic football. They narrowly missed out on a place in the final after a 1–0 defeat in the semi-final against the team that went on to win the tournament. Although it was disappointing to come so close, the lads can be incredibly proud of the way they performed.

There was some awesome football on display throughout the day, with great passing, teamwork, attacking play and some excellent defending. It was another opportunity to see all the hard work from training being put into practice on the pitch, and the lads continue to improve and develop with every tournament.

As coaches, we couldn’t be prouder of this group. The players have shown fantastic character throughout the summer, adapting brilliantly to different teams, pitches, conditions and circumstances across all the tournaments they have played in. They have continued to work hard, support each other and, most importantly, enjoy their football.

A massive thank you also goes to all the parents for their continued support throughout the summer. From the early starts and long days to cheering the lads on from the sidelines, it really does make a difference.

What a summer it has been for this fantastic bunch of lads. Plenty of football, plenty of memories and plenty to be proud of. ⚽👏

The U9 Blacks travelled to the Rotherham Town Gala in glorious sunshine and produced an outstanding team performance. The players showed fantastic teamwork, played some excellent passing football, and it was brilliant to see the things we've been working on in training being put into practice on the pitch.

We had goals coming from all over the pitch, backed up by some solid defending, making us a tough team to play against throughout the day. The team remained undefeated, overcoming some very strong opposition, and deservedly finished as tournament winners.

A fantastic effort from everyone involved—well done, lads! 🏆⚽
