We’re delighted to announce that on Sunday 4th October, we’ll be hosting a special charity football match at Dale Park, bringing together players past & present alongside some familiar faces, all for a brilliant cause.

The idea is simple, get everyone together, have a cracking day around football and hopefully raise as much money as we possibly can along the way.

It’ll be Β£15 per player to take part, with everything raised from the game being split:

🩡 50% donated to charity
⚽️ 50% going back into Shaw Inn FC

We’re hoping to get a proper mix involved, lads who have represented Shaw Inn over the last couple of years, current players and others who have been part of the journey along the way.

‼️ We’re also looking for local businesses or individuals who would be willing to help sponsor the day or contribute towards anything we might need.

Any support, big or small, would be massively appreciated and we’ll make sure anyone who gets behind the event receives plenty of recognition across our socials and on the day.

We’d also love to see as many people as possible come down to Dale Park to watch, support the lads and help us make a proper day of it. Families, friends, former players and anyone from the local community are more than welcome.

The Blues are back at Dale Park this Sunday for our first home game of the new league season, as we welcome newly promoted New Lodge WMC FC in our latest Championship fixture.

After an exceptional start to the new campaign on Sunday, the lads will be hoping to carry that momentum into this weekend’s game against another tough opponent. Three points on the road was the perfect way to get the season underway, but attention now quickly turns to the next challenge.

There were plenty of positives to take from the opening weekend, with the work rate, togetherness and intensity from the lads setting the standards early on. The challenge now is to make sure those standards don’t drop as we look to build on a brilliant opening result and continue our strong start to the season.

New Lodge WMC will provide another difficult test and we know first-hand the threat they can pose after facing them during pre-season, and we’ll have to be at our best once again if we want to come away with another positive result.

We’d love to see plenty of support down at Dale Park this Sunday as the lads look to build on a fantastic opening weekend and make it two wins from two! 🩡

What a way to start the new league season! 🩡

The Blues come away with a huge three points on the road against recently relegated Premier Division side Cobcar after an outstanding performance from start to finish.

The lads started excellently and were on the front foot from the first whistle. It didn’t take long for that positive start to be rewarded as Jude Fitzgerald slipped Davey Cook through, who made no mistake with the finish to fire us into an early lead.

From there, the intensity only increased. The lads pressed relentlessly, battled for absolutely everything and the work rate all over the pitch was unbelievable. Our pressure soon paid off again when a well-worked pass from Dion Travis found Lee Parkin, who produced an excellent finish on his debut to double our advantage.

And we weren’t finished there. Davey Cook’s unbelievable pressing forced the mistake from the Cobcar left-back, allowing him to win the ball back before unselfishly squaring it across to Jude Fitzgerald, who finished brilliantly to round off an exceptional first-half display and send us into the break 3-0 up.

After the restart, the lads continued exactly where they left off. The work rate, intensity and desire remained at an unbelievable level, and our efforts were rewarded once again when a superb lofted pass from Brandon Glaves found Davey Cook, who produced a brilliant half-volley to grab his second of the game and make it 4-0.

Cobcar managed to find a consolation goal late on, but by then the damage was done. The Blues’ intensity, effort and togetherness had simply been too much throughout the game.

What a start to the new league season and three massive points on the board! πŸ‘πŸ»

The lads were phenomenal from the first minute until the final whistle and came away with exactly what they deserved. Every single player worked for each other, competed for everything and showed the standards we want to set this season.

MOM πŸ† - Lee Parkin & Davey Cook

Lee Parkin was absolutely class today. His work rate, battling and desire were outstanding from start to finish, and he topped off a brilliant performance with an excellent goal on his debut. A superb first appearance in a Shaw Inn shirt.

Davey Cook was fantastic once again. His attitude, effort and quality were simply too much for Cobcar to handle. He never stopped pressing, caused problems throughout and took both of his goals exceptionally. A massive performance leading the line.

The Blues’ first competitive fixture of the 26/27 season takes place this weekend as we travel to face last season’s Premier League side, Cobcar.

After a positive pre-season, attention now turns to the league campaign as the lads look to take all the hard work, preparation and momentum from the last few weeks straight into Matchday One.

We know this weekend will provide a tough test against strong opposition, but the lads are certainly up for the challenge. The aim is to start the season on the front foot, set our standards from the very first whistle and hopefully come away with all three points. A new season brings a fresh opportunity and the lads are ready to give everything as we begin our Championship campaign.

We’d love to see as much support as possible from the very first Matchday. Get yourselves down to Milton Forge and get behind the Blues as we get our 26/27 season underway!🩡
