The World Of Football Has Lost A Good Man In Kenny Jacket.
I’m a great believer that it’s so important we take the time to show appreciation to the coaches, managers, and mentors who have had such a profound influence on the sport we love football.
I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to send Kenny Jackett this video back in February 2026 I know it made him smile. It was my way of letting him know just how much his influence meant to me.
Ken, those principles, those words of encouragement, and the values you instilled in me had a profound impact not only on my career, helping me become the first million-pound teenager when I moved from Watford to Crystal Palace, where Kenny was the assistant coach and academy manager when I was 16-18 but also its impacted countless young footballers I continue to work with today.
Those same lessons are still being passed on. Your legacy lives on through every young player who is encouraged, challenged, and inspired to become the best version of themselves.
RIP Kenny Jackett. Gone, but never forgotten.
You can’t beat having a Kenny Jackett-type person in your life.
And to everyone involved in football whether in the professional game or at grassroots level take time to show appreciation to your coaches and managers. When all is said and done, they are the ones who have invested countless hours, offered encouragement, shown dedication, and played a huge role in the development of both players and the game itself.
