GPR returned to battle for Round 2 of the HKRC Championship, this time swapping freezing temperatures for relentless rain.
Saturday brought steady drizzle, giving the team a full day of gathering data, filming, and chasing the right setup.
By Sunday, the rain had stopped but the track remained soaked, greasy, and slow to dry β€” setting the stage for a challenging race day.

🌧️ Heat 1 – Fully Wet Track
J. Davis – P18
A brilliant charge through the field, gaining 7 positions.
Fastest lap: 53.30

R. Ball – P23
Taken out in Turn 1 and forced to wrestle a bent steering column, but still pushed through to finish.
Fastest lap: 53.60

M. Cushley – P20
Caught in the Turn 1 chaos and clipped teammate Richard, bending his axle but keeping the kart alive to the flag.
Fastest lap: 54.09

🌦️ Heat 2 – Track Beginning to Dry
J. Davis – P20
Another strong drive, climbing 3 more places with improving pace.
Fastest lap: 50.80

R. Ball – P21
Involved in yet another incident, damaging a second steering column, but showed real grit to finish again.
Fastest lap: 51.99

M. Cushley – P19
A cleaner run with better speed and no major incidents.
Fastest lap: 50.56

πŸ† Final – First Race on Slicks
With the track finally dry enough, the team switched to slick tyres for the only time all weekend, forcing last‑minute setup changes and big decisions.

J. Davis – P19
A solid end to a strong weekend, banking valuable championship points.
Fastest lap: 43.77

R. Ball – P21
Hit again and forced off track, but fought back with impressive pace and reeled in the pack.
Fastest lap: 42.94

M. Cushley – P20
A few costly mistakes dropped him back, but he still brought home important points.
Fastest lap: 43.87

🏁 GPR Race Report – Round 1, HKRC Championship
The opening round of the HKRC Championship marked GPR’s first outing of the year, and what a baptism it was. With 36 karts on the gridβ€”25 of them in the ultra‑competitive 177 classβ€”the team faced a circuit that threw every possible condition at them.
Freezing temperatures, rain, frost, cold patches, and moments of dry running made setup and tyre choice a constant challenge throughout the day.

Despite the chaos, the team pushed hard and gathered valuable data, experience, and points.

πŸ”₯ Heat 1
J. Davis – P18
Fastest lap: 44.41

R. Ball – P19
Picked up a drop‑down penalty.
Fastest lap: 43.45

M. Cushley – P22
Mechanical flag ended the run early.
Fastest lap: 43.98

❄️ Heat 2
J. Davis – P19
Fastest lap: 51.69

R. Ball – P21
Another drop‑down penalty in the tricky conditions.
Fastest lap: 51.99

M. Cushley – P18
Fastest lap: 49.63

πŸ† Final
The final was dramatic across the board, with nine drivers disqualifiedβ€”a testament to how tough the conditions and regulations were on the day.

J. Davis – DQ
Rear wheels inside the sidepod and a drop‑down penalty.
Fastest lap: 47.13

R. Ball – P13
A brilliant drive in the final, capitalising on the chaos and bringing home a strong haul of points.
Fastest lap: 45.18
Huge well done to Richard for keeping it clean and pushing through the field.

M. Cushley – DQ
Same technical infringement: rear wheels inside the sidepod.
Fastest lap: 48.68

What a weekend !!
We really struggled in the heats just not finding the perfect setup.
Managed some really good fast laps but the grid had really talented drivers this weekend, and we where still missing some pace .
For the final we made the right choise and set the kart up just perfect for the ocasion. AΓ€ little shower made the track very slippy and gave us advantage .
Through the pack and p1 .
first win at fulbeck πŸ₯‡πŸ
Could not thank my mecanic Edi Cushley enough .
What a job he has done all weekend ❀️

Its been a hard decision to make .
But me and Edi Cushley are giving up the championship.
After the incident this weekend .we have been left with nothing to fight for .we should have been 3rd in the championship and fighting until the end .
We will focus on our goal for next year and start practice and training sessions earlier than expected .
We will do our last race of the season but not at fulbeck next month.
And the goal is to get fit and do as much seat time as we can before the start of 2025.
A massive thank you to everyone that has shared time,.knowledge ,advise and helped us be competitive .❀️
