BarnsleyJudoclub The club has now been up and running for just over 5 years, and continues to attract new players.

Back in the 1980's Barnsley had a legendary Judo Club, producing elite Judoka such as 1984 Los Angeles Olympian Steve Gawthorpe. However in 2009, head coach Eddie Newton decided to return Judo back to his home town. We are a diverse club with around 40 members, both male and female, with ages of active players ranging from 7 to 55. We cater for all levels and interests, and encourage a friendly at

mosphere. Whether you are a complete beginner or an old hand that has lapsed and wants to get back in to it, you can be sure of a warm welcome and an excellent standard of judo.
