The end of the season and the end of an era for me in Honda Cadet, finishing as South Yorkshire Champion.

My last ever race in Honda this week and I managed to get on the podium at Wombwell Karting 🥉

It was a close battle for 2nd with my friend, but im very happy eith the finishing results, which secured my championship win at Wombwell.

Practice : 2nd 🥈
Heat 1: 3rd 🥉
Heat 2: 5th (dad making changes that didn't work and then being almost wiped out by someone who didn't like to be overtaken)
Heat 3: 2nd 🥈

Final: 3rd 🥉

And to top it off, beat my personal best by 0.01! 😂

With a new class and other changes on the cards, exciting things to come!

After a long weekend of karting at Wombwell Karting over Saturday and Sunday. I revisited the BIKC Monday evening for the Local finals.

Didn't go quite how I wanted them to, due to very strange rules in place, poor karts and poor marshalling. However I still qualified for the regional in Manchester by placing top 5.

Now to make a visit to Manchester to scope out the track in preparation for the regional in hope I can get to the national final!

Top spot this weekend at Wombwell Karting 🥇🏆

Heat 1: P4 to P2 in a dry but cold track heat. Very close and great racing between the top 4 on this for most of the heat, constantly swapping places from 1st to 4th and back again.

Heat 2: P6 to P3 another dry heat and managed to get fastest lap of the day in this one. Also closed to gap to 2nd after managing to work my way through, just didn't have enough time to attempt an overtake.

Heat 3: P1 to P2 in an unfortunately greesy damp heat on slicks. Only 1 of the grid choose to risk it on wets and that paid off for him. After running 3rd for most of the heat however, I was happy to get p2 on the last lap after making a clean overtake

Final: Managed to qualify on pole and bring it home with a P1 in very wet conditions.

Very happy with a return to winning form and back to top spot in the championship.

2nd place at Race Kart Centre 🥈

Almost 2 month since my last race due to my new baby brothers arrival so happy with the result on my return.

Front 4 all switching places in practice for fastest lap and all finishing within a tenth of each other - finished 3rd by the end.

Heat 1 - Started 4th, finished 2nd - Dry

Finished within 3 tenths from lead and had fastest lap for most of the race, losing it late on by 2 hundreth!

Heat 2 - Started 4th, finished 4th - Dry

Quickly took 2nd, was on the bumper of first trying to find a way through when unfortunately brake checked very early leading into my overtake opportunity, causing a spin and a loss of 3 seconds! Dropped me back in to 4th and wasn't enough time to make any move by time I caught up.

Heat 3 - Started 1st, finished 2nd - Very Wet

Dropped to 2nd early on, having only had time to change tyres and not the actual set up or gearing. Stayed a strong 2nd through out but lost a lot of ground to first unfortunately

Final - Started 2nd, Finished 2nd - Damp

Took the decision to move back on to slick, as did most of the grid. Race leader got a strong start and switched on slightly earlier than me. They pulled almost a 1s lead. By the 3-4 minute mark I was closing the gap again now that my tyres turned on. Managed to get almost of the bumper as we approached the back markers, which i saw as my opportunity hopefully. However a red flag due to steering failure on another kart promptly ended the race at the 6 minute mark.

Very close by then end of the final and I think it would have been a very good battle for 1st unfortunately, but very happy with 2nd regardless

After a huge smash into me whilst waiting stationary in a line, for action to resume, I managed to finish 1st at Race Kart Centre.

Heat 1: 1st after trying to fix the best we could
Heat 2: 1st
Heat 3: DNF due to back bumper falling off again after trying to fix with mismatched brackets and bent parts

Final: 1st with more bolts and tie wraps

Unfortunately kart is looking like a write off which is gutting as I'm attached to it after winning all my trophies with it. After an avoidable collision that I had no control of. Quite a lot of parts need changing and we think it's quite bent.

Fastest lap of the day with 38.1 and 2nd place today at Wombwell Karting 🏎🥈

Not quite the top spot like i was hoping but after a failed brake in practice and a terrible heat 1, I'm happy with that.

1st place at Race Kart Centre today in honda cadets and my brother managed to get 3rd in bambino so both go home with a trophy! 🥇🥉

Had a good relaxed day.

First race back after a long winter off.

Missed Saturday testing so had to go in blind.

Heat 1 we managed 3rd, with 2nd fasted lap.
Heat 2 went awful after only 1 lap in losing an engine clamp so resulted in a DNF
Heat 3 we were hoping for 2nd to try and get a better position for the final but had to settle for 3rd again.

Final, we managed to push forward and finish 3rd overall and 2nd fastest lap again. We will take that after a long winter off and first race back. 🏎 🥉🏆

Thank you Scott Parker for coming along and helping us out. Hugely appreciated and helped us get that trophy.

First outting to Lockwell Hill Karting with my brother this year to get back into a seat ready for first round at Wombwell Karting

Testing our new Venom race engines gx200 and trying to give it a little run in time.

Not been in a kart all winter but we're back at it now and ready to go!

After issues last time out, we went to lockwell today to see if the new parts have sorted the problem. Turns out a bent axle and bad bearing does infact make the back end bounce up and down!

Great day for it, despite the bad weather. As managed to get out and practice with 3 other fast drivers in Daniel, Aaron and Jayden. Track all to ourselves!

Another great day at Race Kart Centre 🏎

Started off behind pace, after not having sat in a kart all of July.

After lots of adjustments made by dad on the kart and me getting back into it properly, managed to pick pace up to get into top 3 pace by end of the morning.

Engine swap, a few tweaks and some lunch, saw me manage to take pole in Quali, that set me up for the rest of the afternoon. Finishing 1st by the end of the day 🥇 and getting another lap record at 30.89 in the final!

Bad morning turned into a very good day by the end of it. Some very fun and eventful racing today, and some new faces too.

Couple week off and back to Fulbeck soon. 🤞for another podium.
