⚽️⚽️ First Ever League Game ⚽️⚽️

Our youngest team, our U7s played their first ever league game today and came out on top against Wombwell Town.

Goals from Ezra ⚽️⚽️ and Toby ⚽️ ⚽️ plus an OG ⚽️ but our player of the match was Olly in the net. Made some brilliant saves including saving a penalty!

The team has been working hard towards this first game and got their reward. Onwards and upwards!

⚽️ FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON ⚽️

It didn’t quite go our way today, but the lads showed a lot of fight and character in that second half to try and get something out of the game. 💪🐾

The game started really well for Pinfold, and we were unlucky not to take the lead when Riley danced his way through the defence, only for their keeper to make a great save.

Pini had the better of the opening stages, applying plenty of pressure but just couldn’t find a way through.

That seemed to spur SJR into action, and they deservedly grabbed two goals towards the end of the first half. We didn’t match their energy for the final 10 minutes and went into half-time with plenty to think about.

After a bit of a kick up the arse 😂, the second half was a completely different story.

Pini came out fighting, with Reggie getting stuck in right in the middle of the park, not giving SJR a minute on the ball.

Reggie and Riley then linked up brilliantly, playing some quick one-twos before Reggie found the back of the net. ⚽️🔥

Riley was braking quickly and linking up well with his teammates to create more chances.

Max and Reggie, flashed some brilliant balls across the face of the box, but unfortunately we just couldn’t find the finishing touch.

As we pushed for an equaliser, more pressure was applied. Leland had a great chance, but once again their keeper came out on top.

A draw probably would have been a fairer result on the balance of the second half, but that’s football!

Riley & Max - both created lots of chances and worked incredibly hard in the second half to help drag us back into the game.

Noah - solid in defence, timing his tackles really well against a tricky forward. Noah also received a late vote that I missed initially 🙏

Isaac - was this week's trainer Of the week.

A massive well done to all the lads today. Plenty to work on, but that second-half performance showed the fight and attitude we want to see from this group. 👏🐾

Pinfold Pumas Reds v Pen*stone Church White (U9s)

The Reds started off their first season in the Sheffield League E Division with a dominating win against Pen*stone Church.

Amazing teamwork in attack and some unreal defending to keep out some strong goal attempts earned them a good start to their first year since moving over as Barnsley League champions.

MOTM: Lenny after a class start up front getting himself a bag full of goals.

FIRST WIN⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

A brilliant start to the new season for the Pinfold Pumas U9 Blues, travelling away to Ecclesall Rangers. After a lot of hard work throughout preseason, let’s see how much they wanted it 💪💪💪

The first half was a really tight contest, with both teams deadlocked for much of it. Isaac G finally broke the deadlock to put the Pumas up going into half-time. Some great saves from Thomas, along with solid defending from Isaac F, helped the boys keep a clean sheet.

Once the nerves settled in the second half, the Pumas started to find their rhythm. Goals from Quinn and George put us well ahead, including an excellent, well-thought-out assist from Isaac H.

But Ecclesall weren’t finished. They dug deep and fought their way back into the game, levelling things up and really testing the boys.

The Pumas kept their composure though. Stan produced a great follow up strike to put us back in front before Quinn finished things off with an outstanding strike to make it winners Pinfold Pumas Blues! 💪⚽

All that hard work during pre season showed on the pitch today, and it’s fantastic to get the first win of the season under our belts. Absolutely chuffed to bits for them

🔴 Pinfold Pumas Reds vs Porter Phoenix 🔴

It wasn’t our day today as the Reds came away on the wrong side of the result against Porter Phoenix.

The scoreline probably doesn’t tell the full story, with our goalkeeper producing some fantastic saves throughout the game to keep us in it and give the team a chance.

The lads looked much more lively in the second half, showing more energy, getting on the front foot and creating some better moments. There was plenty to take from the performance, even if the result wasn’t what we wanted.

A special mention to Luis, who was voted Man of the Match 👏🏆. A really strong performance and thoroughly deserved.

We dust ourselves down, take the positives and go again. 💪🔴

Pinfold Pumas 4–3 Cobcar B

Pinfold Pumas produced a fantastic late comeback to beat Cobcar B 4–3 in a thrilling seven-goal encounter.

The Pumas started brightly and raced into a 2–0 lead, looking comfortable for much of the first half. However, Cobcar struck just before half-time to make it 2–1 at the break.

The second half saw the momentum swing in Cobcar’s favour. They scored twice to turn the game around and take a 3–2 lead, leaving Pinfold with plenty to do.

But the Pumas showed great character when it mattered most. With just 10 minutes remaining, they found an equaliser to make it 3–3 before completing the comeback with a late winner to seal a dramatic 4–3 victory.

From 2–0 up, to 3–2 down, to winning 4–3, it was a superb display of resilience from Pinfold Pumas.
