GameDay review!

Our under 15’s played their last home game of the league fixtures for this season (cup games still to go) and what a game!!!

The girls are playing so well together and having a sub this week made a huge difference. Featherstone lionesses travelled to victory park in numbers but for the first time this season the girls didn’t seem as fazed by this, and the try’s flooded in! Our favourite comment of the day came from one of our players, We might all get to score! This was following a try from Lydia who works hard every game but this week saw her finally push over the line for her first try after playing for several years!

Even when the girls made errors the team morale was high and the girls were supported by their team mates to help fix it and pick them up again and fix the errors they did with 8 try’s in total, several girls also had a go a conversations with 2 successful given most were from the touch line, this is ace too! leaving the final score at 36-0

This week again was a huge team effort and we couldn’t be prouder! The way these girls are growing and developing together!

With just 2 league games left to play, they travel to Bassetlaw Bulldogs next Saturday and we look forward to it. This is what girls rugby is all about, a space for everyone and a team morale that will lead to lifelong friendships!

Two games this week!

First up our under 10’s who travel to Sheffield hawks for their game, good luck young warriors!

Whilst our under 15’s girls team have their final home league game as they face Featherstone again for the return fixture.

We are back in Barlick again now too so refreshments will be available.

We hope our junior warriors have a fab day playing the sport they love! 🏉

GameDay update!

Sorry for the lack of sharing GameDay news this week!

However now is a good time to highlight what an amazing week our under 15’s girls squad have had!

Quite possibly one of the best training sessions this season where there were tackles, ball skills, fun and laughter, leading to the return game against Stanningley!

This time the field was even starting with both teams fielding 12 a side, the girls were ready to show what they could really do with matched numbers!

Again fun and laughter from the girls throughout the game, and hearts of warriors lead to a very strong start, by half time the score stood at 14-0

The second half saw the girls put in the best team try we have seen this season that started with Elena putting in a big run, a cheeky offload to Sophia who was almost there but another incredible pass to Hannah who was ready to support, saw the Warriors over the line topped off with a goal kicked by Elena!

Final score stood at 34-8 and with so many compliments about how amazing our girls are not just with their rugby skills but their sportsmanship too we couldn’t be prouder!

Next week the girls take on Featherstone at home, stay tuned for further details!

If you have a daughter that wants to be a part of this amazing group of girls why not give training a TRY! We train Thursdays at 6pm colne and Nelson rugby club! No need to pre register just turn up.

Whilst we are on it our girls have also been busy, last Saturday they took on Stanningley away for the first time this season. We travelled with just 13 players and with 2 injuries we carried on with 11 vs 13 for the last 30 minutes of the game. The girls made us super proud.

This Saturday they face them again hopefully with some of our players returning from injury too it should be a good battle! Here are a few pictures and a nice social event the same day for the girls to help build the team bond off the pitch too!

No our usual standard of pictures, but here are some highlights of our under 12’s as they faced keighley Albion in a friendly.

The boys showed some great skills throughout the game, both in defence and attack.

As the second half went on warriors dropped to 11 players as one of our warriors were taken to hospital due to a hand injury 🥺 We want to wish Joseph a speedy recovery!

The final score ended in a draw 16-16.

Yesterday also saw some of our players, playing their final game for Warriors. We want to wish them well in their rugby journey 🏉 and remind them that, Once a warrior, always a warrior. 🖤❤️🤍

2 games this weekend!

First off our under 12’s travel to keighley Albion to take on their under 12’s with a 9am kick off!

Before our girls travel to drig for another top of the league battle at 11am.

GameDay review under 15’s girls

Our under 15’s faced a tougher game yesterday as they battled Heworth ARLFC Girls Rugby for the top of the league spot.

Our girls were looking good with 5/5 wins but knew this wasn’t going to be easy.

Heworth were quick of the mark to score but warriors came back fighting scoring 2 tries on the back of this.

The game was physical and both teams looked for half time as the score stood at Warriors 10 Heworth 12.

The girls took the second half with the same passion but Heworth came out the winners in the end with the final score standing at 10-30.

The score doesn’t reflect the game played and given the last few times these teams have met Heworth have scored much more points each game just shows the growth of our girls.

Our girls continue to learn and grow in confidence with their rugby skills and their coaches are extremely proud! They will dust them selves off as they work to face Drighlington in their next fixture.
