Restoration of the halfpipe in Norton-on-Derwent has been halted due to health and safety concerns.

Work has begun on repairing the damaged ramp at Victory Park.

Structural supports within the ramp are being replaced and the ramp skinned with new plywood.

A further ramp will also be re-skinned as part of the work.

Repairs have been organised by Barnoldswick Town Council with support from the Friends of Victory Skate Park and are partly funded from Pendle Council's West Craven area committee.

The refurbishment should allow safe use of the ramps while fundraising is carried out to allow a full renewal of the wheelpark in future.

Good evening friends!
With the summer holidays fastly approaching we know this can lead to lots of kids with nothing to do.
Friends of victory skate park are putting a call out to see if there is anyone out there with skates, scooters, roller boots, skateboards lurking in a garage/shed/attic that are no longer used or needed. 🛼🛴 🛹

How amazing is this?

She first got into skateboarding by learning tricks on YouTube, and could potentially become the youngest Olympic medallist for 85 years. She will turn 13 before the Games begin in late July.

Twelve-year-old Sky Brown is set to become the youngest British summer Olympian of all time after being named in the Team GB skateboarding squad.

We have received a grant from Barnoldswick Town Council which has enabled us to enlist community interest company "Proffitts" to help with the regeneration project of Victory skate park.
