Barnard Castle Youth Weekend Roundup: Heart, Resilience, and Standout Displays Across the Board

It was an action-packed weekend of football for Barnard Castle Youth, filled with remarkable comebacks, fierce individual performances, and unwavering team spirit.

Girls U13: Fought back in a thrilling 5โ€“5 draw against Billingham Queens, anchored by a Lydia hat-trick and standout saves from Mia (Coaches' POTM). Millen earned POTM.

U10: Stage a brilliant second-half comeback victory over Redcar Town Lions behind a Charlie B hat-trick, goals from Ben W and Louie T, and an emergency goalkeeping stint from Bodhi E.

U8, U9, U9 Tornadoes & U11: Exhibited incredible work ethic despite tough fixtures. Finn (U8) and Charlie C (U9T) put in heroic efforts, while Louie (POTM) scored in a hard-fought U11 battle. The U9s showed great determination against Hurworth Albions, earning a team Coaches' POTM.

U13: Delivered a clinical away performance against St Maryโ€™s, securing a 0โ€“2 win and a clean sheet.

U12 Hurricanes & U12 Tornadoes: Faced tough, low-sub situations; Len P scored twice for the Hurricanes (2โ€“9 vs Bedale), while Besty and Eva found the net for the Tornadoes.

U14 & U15: Kept battling through tough opposition. The U15s took an early lead via Noah before falling 1โ€“4 to Great Ayton, with Oscar earning POTM.

U16: Delivered the performance of the weekend away at Whitby Fishermen. Despite playing with 10 men due to injury, they dominated for a 1โ€“5 victory with goals from Reubs, Jay, Kels, and a Logy brace.
