Rough estimates from sports biomechanics put many Judo throws in the range of 2 to 6 G (Gravitational Force), potentially harder during competitions.

For comparison, a roller coaster might hit 3 to 5 G, formula 1 braking and cornering around 5 to 6 G and fighter pilots can experience 9 G with special suits.

To promote longevity in our sport, proper breakfalls spread the force of a throw across time and surface area, so when your friend smashes your skeleton into the planet, you can get up and go again 💪🏻

The rolling armbar is considered a "gold standard" in judo for attacking a turtled opponent.

Continuous, tight squeezing of the legs is crucial to prevent the opponent from escaping or escaping to a half-guard.

Congratulations to our long term member Kat "Relentless" Norton for her win on Saturday night at the Boxing For Veterans event in Bracknell.

In an amazing show of skill, dedication, and technical ability she raised over a thousand pounds for Royal British Legion to support our military veterans.

Kat has spent the last few months training weekly with Andy to get ready for the event, putting in the rounds in our dedicated studio.

Eva has been a member of Combat Academy UK for a number of years now and is proving to be a very skillful and dedicated Martial Artist.

She is currently working her way through our Ju Jitsu belt syllabus and has picked up some 1 to 1 lessons to practice some of the more advanced techniques that we teach.
