Sports pavilions, scout huts and community halls are among assets to be transferred to local groups as part of the Council’s ambitious community asset transfer and support programme.

15 applications are being progressed for asset transfers with associated grants, along with 9 applications for grants to enable organisations to improve an existing community asset. In total, £5.7 million is being awarded in grants.

The scheme was set up to empower local organisations to take over vital facilities to ensure that they can continue to deliver benefits to local residents long term, beyond the life of the Council.

Nominations for our 2026 Volunteer Awards close this Sunday!

These awards recognise local people who are making a difference. Last year, among those recognised were people like Mandy (pictured) who supported local community projects in Tadworth alongside our own Community Development team.

Their contributions are a reminder that volunteering is often at the heart of community development - local people giving their time, building trust, supporting others, and helping communities feel more connected.

Fleet Spurs U12 Titans vs Beecholme Belles U12 Bluebelles (0-3)

What a way to wrap up the season! After celebrating the girls’ achievements at the ‘End of Season’ awards on the Saturday, we headed to Fleet Spurs for one final mission: to finish the league season unbeaten.

Knowing Fleet were a tough side, the Bluebelles took full advantage of the 3G surface to play their signature passing game and despite blustery conditions, the girls worked hard to keep the ball low and controlled.

The breakthrough came from Tori, who intercepted a clearance at the halfway line and sent a brilliant high ball over the pack and into the net! 1-0! The momentum stayed with us as the team pressed forward, hustling the defence and intercepting any stray balls and when another clearance came Bridget’s way she held off her defender, to run at the keeper, and cooly slot in our second. 2-0 at half time!

In the second half, the pressure didn’t stop. A fantastic team move saw the ball fly from Bridget to Evelyn, then on to Maiya, who smashed in our third! That goal truly summed up our season: teamwork, support, and pure joy on the pitch!

Congratulations to Tori who was voted Girl of the Game by Fleet Spurs for outstanding defending and to Ninja who we awarded Girl of the Game for her endless hard work pressing the opposition.

*SPECIAL SHOUTOUT* A massive THANK YOU to our amazing parents. Rain or shine, your cheers and support have powered us on all season. We simply couldn’t do it without you! 🩷

Last Saturday all of Beecholme Belles came together to celebrate at our end of season awards ceremony! 🏆☀️

There has been so much to celebrate this season at Beecholme, with several of our teams winning trophies and earning promotions, and all of our Belles showing amazing progress in their skills, building strong friendships, and (most importantly) enjoying their football! 🩷⚽️

We spent the day eating lots of delicious things (like BBQ and ice cream), playing super fun games, spending time in the sun, and dishing out some well deserved awards!

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, all the volunteers who stepped up to show support to our growing community, and to the brilliant Issy who organised the whole day! ( )🩷
