Last Friday night (a couple of Fridays ago 😅) Merstham ladies sent two teams to the and epic summer tournament. Both of the teams were mixed up of Merstham 7s Ambers, Blues and Blacks, which was a great way to properly catch up with each other and have fun playing football ⚽️ And we are so frickin proud, with it turning into a great summer evening 🫶

Merstham Ambers topped their group, resulting in them going into the cup final, whilst Merstham Blacks came second, earning their place in the plate final! The finals were utterly fantastic games, both played against two strong and talented Oxted sides. The final whistle saw Merstham Blacks win the Plate, however the Merstham Ambers was still 0-0…. And into penalties. Our hero Chrissie made some unbelievable saves and then took on the pressure to score her penalty, leading Merstham to also win the Cup!

And the best part? We had so much fun ❤️ 🖤💙🧡

We are so proud of your Merstham 7s Blacks who have retained the Division 1 South league title for a second year 💪🏆🖤🧡
What an incredible season… going completely unbeaten and working so well together as a team.

On an incredibly hot day yesterday, the Blacks took on in a brilliantly competitive game! At half time, Merstham were 3-0 up, with goals from Mel and Lina and had a much deserved breather and water break. In the second half, the ladies worked hard in crazy 30+ temperatures to maintain their lead, although a last minute goal from Woking made the final score 3-1 to Merstham 👏🏼 Tara was POM for super work in defence but the whole team need congratulating for a wonderful season!

Can you actually believe it? The final league game of the season and it’s our amazing Merstham 7s Blacks 🧡🖤…. Who have already won the league with a game in hand 💪⚽️ We are so proud of you ladies! What an incredible achievement! The ladies are taking on in a game that’s going to be brilliant.

On Saturday 13th June, some of Merstham Ladies are taking part in an epic Football Marathon, coming together with lots of London football teams to raise money for sexual health awareness and support in Africa. Through the power of football, the ladies will be playing for 12 hours, all in aid of this wonderful charity. By the end of the 12 hours, the estimate is that each individual would have roughly run the length of a marathon, by playing football.

She’s at it again! 🏋️‍♀️

Our strong and brilliant Lisa completed another Hyrox challenge and as usual, powered her way through the course with improvements in many of the areas 💪 We are so proud of you Lisa and we know the physical and mental battles you’ve had to overcome to get to this moment. You’re such a resilient human… and only getting stronger! Watching Lisa bring her power onto the pitch is inspirational and we can’t wait to continue watching you shine! ✨

Our Merstham 7s Blues were also playing this afternoon in their last league game of the season 💙 They were taking on in what was a fantastic match, played in brilliant spirits 🤍

Fantastic football was on show from both teams but Merstham found the back of the net early on with a great goal from Bonnie, which blasted its way into the bottom corner of the net. Great battling from both sides meant no more goals were scored until after half time, when Woking equalised with a clever strike. We were determined to get the win though and another wonder goal from Bonnie meant the score finished 2-1 to Merstham 👏🏼🧡💙🖤 POM went to Tash for determinedly owning her wing and being her absolute best self on the pitch… as Sarah said “today the match needed a bit of Tash” ✨

A win today means that in their first season of Division 1 North, the Blues have finished a very proud third 🥉Ladies, you have absolutely smashed it 🫶💙👏🏼

A wonderful start to the afternoon saw Merstham 7s Black take on in an absolutely brilliant match, where both sides put in epic performances.

Merstham took the lead early on in the match with a great goal from Mel however, not too long after, Caterham followed up with a well worked equaliser. At half time, the hot sun meant Merstham needed a drink and a tactics chat, before going into the second half, and we were determined to find the lead again.

A wonderful penalty save denied Merstham going ahead shortly after half time, however our superstar Lina was not going to be stopped, and she then scored a brace to put ahead our ladies 3-1 ahead. Chrissie made some fantastic saves in goal, the midfielders, Lisa, Amanda, Mel and Ali worked their socks off and our defence of H, Tara and Kelly put up a brilliant performance 🫶 The final score was 3-1 to Merstham in what was a brilliantly competitive match ⚽️ Thank you for making the journey and well played!

At the weekend, two of our wonderful squad were off completing their own challenge… the march! A huge shout out to Kelly and Abi, who completed the walk and raised money and awareness for the charity. It was a day of completely mixed weather but they battled the elements to reach the end, on what was a proud but emotional day for both. Well done ladies, we are really proud of you 🩷🩷
