Last night we had our prize giving following the President’s Day competition, hosted by our President, Raymond Burton.

We had some fantastic weather (on Saturday anyway) and a packed clubhouse last night for what was a great night!

Well done to all of the prize winners on the day, in particular, Colin Crozier, who was the overall winner of the men’s prize, and to our Lady Captain, Joanne Williamson, who was crowned Ladies’ Overall winner.

⛳️ President’s Day 2026 ⛳️

As President’s Day approaches, we would like to wish our President, Mr Raymond Burton, every success and an enjoyable few days as he hosts his President’s Competition.

Raymond has been a dedicated clubman for many years, always willing to give his time, support and effort for the benefit of Carnalea Golf Club. So if anyone deserves to have a successful weekend, it is Raymond!

Best of luck to all competitors, and we look forward to welcoming members and guests to the prize-giving on Saturday evening.

We are extremely disappointed to discover that our newly renovated 14th green has been damaged, with what appears to be a deliberate swipe taken out of the surface with a golf club 😡

What makes this even more frustrating is that the damage is located so close to the hole position that it is likely to affect fellow members and visitors playing the course, including those competing in this weekend’s Presidents Day competition!

Damage like this takes considerable time and resources to repair. We would ask everyone to treat the course with the respect it deserves and to report any inappropriate behaviour if witnessed.

⛳️ Hole in 1️⃣ Double Delight! ⛳️

It’s been a while, but in the past week we’ve had not one but TWO holes in one at Carnalea 🎯

First up we had Davy Conway, who had a fantastic hole in one at the 15th in the Jubilee Cup on Saturday.

Then it was the turn of Paul Nelson, who aced the 13th hole during yesterday’s Senior Open.

It just goes to show that when one arrives, another isn’t far behind! Two brilliant achievements from two long-standing members! ✨

Well done Davy and Nelly – here’s hoping there are a few more aces to come before the season is out! 👏🏌️‍♂️🎉

Following our recent charity fundraiser in aid of the - organised by our member Jimmy Johnston in support of his great-grandson Kobe, who is currently undergoing treatment for leukaemia.

We are absolutely delighted to announce an amazing total of £7,520 was raised!!! 👏

This is a truly remarkable achievement and a donation that will make a meaningful difference to children and families receiving care.

We had the pleasure to welcome Ruairi Forester from the charity to Carnalea GC to officially receive the cheque on behalf of the Children’s Cancer Unit. Jimmy’s family were also present for the special occasion, including his son James, grandson Daniel and, of course, Kobe himself.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, supported, participated and helped make the day such a success.

A disappointing weekend overall for our teams, with some tough results across the board, but we’re incredibly proud of the effort, commitment and spirit shown by everyone representing the club 💚⛳

The Women’s Ulster Trophy team were narrowly defeated by Ballycastle GC.

Ballycastle also claimed the scalp of our Ulster Fourball team. Our men, carrying a 4-1 lead from the home leg, lost 4-1 away and unfortunately lost the tie hole.

The Ulster Cup team suffered a difficult result away to City of Belfast GC, losing 6.5-0.5, but there’s still the home leg next week to turn things around 💪

The Ulster Senior Fourball team came up short against Kilrea, while the Jimmy Bruen team also lost against a strong County Cavan GC team.

The weekend was saved by our Flogas Irish Mixed Foursomes team who had a great 3-1 victory over Portadown GC 🤩

Thanks to all players and supporters who represented the club over the weekend 👏
