𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗗𝗢𝗡’𝗧 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝟯 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 🍽

In fact you don’t NEED to do anything.

But if your looking for an optimal approach, this is a good rule of thumb, for protein synthesis levels.

The reason I highlight NEED .. is because

As long as you're getting your protein requirement for the day, ideally in divided doses, across split times eg. Not all at once - you will stimulate protein synthesis and hence add muscle.

However … if you stress, worry, or become annoyed if you miss a ‘window of opportunity’

Putting you in a state of, overwhelm, panic, and annoyance. This leads to the body producing increased stress hormones and sending energy into the blood.

Making this your default state will lead to issues with digestion, focus,
gym anxiety, anger and body fat accumulation.

So …

👉 Eat Protein
👉 Be Consistent
👉 Vary it across the Day
👉 Vary the type of Protein
👉 Don’t stress to much about it

𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗟𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗩𝗘 …

That fancier = better 🤳

Whilst this can be occasionally fun, a break from the norm and potentially a novel stimulus .. the reality is that the boring gym floor basics superseded all.

As I’ve said here. Some of the most impressive physiques, lifters, athletes and competitors aren’t bending the barbell in some crazy way your not .. it’s a exercise, time and consistency game.

Now …. Here’s the gem 💎

Notice how I say .. ‘better’ ….

This involves:

👉 Perfecting Technique
👉 Upping the Weight
👉 Decreasing or Increasing Rest
👉 Controlling TEMPOs
👉 Concentric vs Eccentric Loading

To name but a few ideas.

So if your struggling to see progress, in strength, size or technique… consider doing less, better, and sticking to the big boy lifts 🤛

𝗦𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗘. 𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗠𝗔𝗫𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗘⚔️

Dude imagine this …

You have just completed the last set of your killer workout. Why would you spend all those hours training, only to diminish your gains (💪) by not feeding your body the proper nutrition?

Your body composition is largely determined by your hormones, and optimizing hormones through
intelligent nutrition post-workout is one key to high performance.

🔑 Your body needs protein to repair the damage you have done to your muscles, and uses glycogen (energy) to mitigate high levels of stress and replenish muscle energy stores.

Post-workout nutrition will typically have TWO primary purposes in my head 🧠:

👉 Flip the body from breaking down into recovery mode by initiating blunting of cortisol and adrenaline, and kickstarting parasympathetic recovery processes.

👉 Decrease protein breakdown and Increase protein synthesis (to help you GROW!!!)

So here’s what to do:

1. This is the best time to consume a carbohydrate.

2. Increase consumption of easy to digest protein sources.
