Stole this - how damn true!!!
What the kids & young adults learn on this journey is invaluable
"Racing parents are crazy"
That’s what people love to say
until they see what really happens behind the chequered flag.
They don’t see the 5 a.m. mornings, the late-night wrenching, the endless receipts, or the dirt you’ll still be scrubbing off a week later.
They don’t see the nerves before the green flag drops, or the tears you hide when your kid spins out but climbs right back in.
It’s not just “go-karts.”
It’s discipline.
It’s courage.
It’s a kid learning how to handle adrenaline, disappointment, and pressure, better than most adults do.
They learn how to win with humility, lose with grace, and keep showing up no matter what the day throws at them.
They learn that speed means nothing without control.
They learn that nothing in life comes easy, not the podium, not the trophy, not respect.
So yep, call us “crazy” if you want.
We’ll take it, here is why .
While some parents spend weekends scrolling or sleeping in,we’re spending ours teaching grit, gratitude, and bravery.
We’re building confidence with every lap.
We’re raising children who know how to compete, focus, and push through fear.
You see chaos, when mum doesn’t know if it’s Muftu Day or forgotten a prize for the school raffle .
We see commitment.
You see exhaust fumes.
We see a future built on fire, drive, and determination.
So sure, maybe we are a little crazy.
But I’d rather be the “crazy race parents” in the pits than the parent wondering where my kid learned how to fight for something they love.
Because this isn’t just racing. It’s raising. 🏁
