Visitors and new Members are very welcome. Founded in 1898 Sickleholme is a small friendly club nestling in the heart of the beautiful Peak District of Derbyshire, some 13 miles from Sheffield, 16 miles from Chesterfield and 15 miles from Glossop. With an undulating parkland course of 6,064 yards (Ladies 5,399 yards) and stunning views, it is hard to find a more spectacular or enjoyable venue anywhere.

Well Done, Ned!

Sickleholme member Ned Heslop took on a huge challenge yesterday, competing in Open Qualifying at Lindrick Golf Club. In his first attempt at trying to qualify for The Open, Ned put up a strong fight on a very demanding Lindrick course. Despite a determined performance, he finished outside the qualifying places.

Not content with that, Ned then headed straight to Dore & Totley Golf Club to represent Sickleholme in the Men's League match. Showing tremendous character and resilience, he battled back from 4 down in his match to secure a fantastic victory on the final hole.

A great effort and a credit to the club.

Men's League vs Dore & Totley
The Men's League team travelled to Dore & Totley last night and came away with a solid 4–4 draw on a challenging away course.

Leading the way were Oliver Smith, who produced an excellent performance to win 6&5, and Hed Heslop, who secured a hard-fought 1-up victory.

Although they didn't get the result, Dan Smith and Joe Lovatt both played well and were unfortunate to lose their matches after competitive contests.

A good team effort overall and a valuable point earned away from home against a strong Dore & Totley side.

Men’s League Result – Home vs Abbeydale

A fantastic evening for the Men's League team last night as they secured a clean sweep against Abbeydale, winning all 8 points on offer.

Congratulations to team captain Oliver Smith, who produced an outstanding performance to win 5&4. Ned Helsop battled hard to claim a 1 up victory, while Dan Smith secured a solid 2 up win.

Special mention goes to our newest team member, Joe Lovatt, who continued his excellent start in the team with an impressive 6&5 victory. Joe has now won his first three matches for the club – a superb achievement.

Well done to everyone involved on a great team performance and a big thank you to all the supports who came to watch the team.

Sickleholme 6 - 18 foursomes Summer League

Our summer league team was on the road again traveling to Lees Hall on Tuesday evening.

They really needed to find some form away from home and did so coming away with a 4 : 4 draw. It’s a course that has a marked home team advantage with its steep elevations and small busy greens.

Andy Naylor playing with Ben Woodhead together with Neil Coverley playing with Jonathan Avill bagged wins for the 4 points while grandee Geoff Thompson playing with Kris James and Malcolm France playing with Garth Nevin went down against their opponents.

All were appreciative of the supporters that had travelled from SGC. The course was flooded with olive green shirts…

Our next fixture is at HOME on Tuesday 23rd June against last year’s winners, Crookhill.
