We’re aware of concerns about paddlesports at Ladybower and wanted to provide an update.
In previous years, paddlesports operated alongside the fishery. This year, the two are being run independently and, due to a combination of operational factors — including limited parking capacity and the costs associated with running the activity — the paddlesports provider has taken the decision to stop providing paddlesports at Ladybower at this time.

We want to reassure everyone that we remain committed to supporting paddlesports at Ladybower. We’re currently exploring options for a suitably qualified and experienced operator to provide activities over the summer, while we develop a longer term plan.

If you’re aware of any operators who are suitably qualified and have the appropriate insurances in place, we’d be happy to hear from them — please ask them to contact us at [email protected].

We appreciate your patience and will share updates as soon as we can.

As from this point 13/05/2026 Paddle Sports on Ladybower Reservoir has been cancelled until further notice for members of the public.

Activities on Ladybower Reservoir are currently under review with Severn Trent Water Authority and the site tenants as new working relationships and future arrangements are discussed.

We would like to thank all of the team, and especially Amanda, for the tremendous hard work, commitment, and passion shown over the last couple of years in helping to put Paddle Sports firmly on the map here at Ladybower.

Your dedication and support have been greatly appreciated by everyone involved, and we thank all participants and supporters for being part of the journey.

Further updates will be provided in due course.

Our free parking is now full there is parking at Heartherdean paid parking and potluck with roadside .👍

The A57 from Glossop to Ladybower is open . We are open for paddlesports from 10am to 2pm. We have Derwent arm open today with Jim being our safetyboat operator for the day . Parking in Ladybower Bay still has space .

Good evening . As you maybe aware the A57 from Glossop to Ladybower Reservoir is closed due to wildfires on the moorland . Please check in the morning to see if the road closure is still in place.
We would like to thank the Firefighters and all involved doing there upmost to tackle this blaze .

Please park up in Ladybower Bay first, then walk up to the paddlesports hut at the Fisheries. Do not drive into the Fisheries as that's the Fisheries customer parking .
A full Buoyancy Aid and for Sup a quick release waist belt.
Launch fees per person are £10 if a PaddleUKmember or £12.50 if not .
While on the water, please be respectful of the fishermen and give them space , wait, and ask if its ok to pass 👍😊. Hopefully, they will do the same 🤞.

We have limited free parking at Ladybower Bay, then paid parking at Heartherdene car park, and then it's pot luck roadside.

Please bring cash for payment as the card machine is playing up.
£10 if a Paddle UK member or £12.50 if not .
Over 8's and under 12's £5 .
Please park up at Ladybower Bay first, then walk up to the Paddlesports Hut at the Fisheries to book in.
Full Buoyancy Aid for all paddlers and a quick release waist belt for Sup ( Paddleboards).
We have limited free parking and paid parking at Heartherdean carpark next to the Fisheries. With the weather set to be great this weekend, I recommend turning up early to avoid disappointment.
Bamford bakery do a range of breakfast baps, and I can recommend them all 😋,get your breakfast, and park up to wait for the gate to open .
Also, as it's going to be SUNNY, treat yourself to an ice cream after your paddle. Ice cream van is opposite the Fisheries.
I'm away this weekend but have left you in capable hands. Bob, our coach, will be booking you in, and our safetyboat operators will be Richard and Jim.
