Every day is Su***de Prevention Day for us at ALPS, but today is the day the world takes notice and stands up to mark September 10th as World Su***de Prevention Day.

We invite you to mark it with us from within you own homes, locations and communities.

Join us in lighting a light of hope at 8 PM to raise awareness and support for su***de prevention within our communities, across the country, and worldwide.

As we do, we also remember those members of our own communities who are no longer with us and honour the survivors of su***de loss.

The thoughts and best wishes of everyone at the club are with Owen and Jim Wright as well as their family and friends, on the passing of their father Jim.

The death has occurred of:

Jim Wright

Wright Jim peacefully at hospital surrounded by his loving family 8th September 2026. Beloved partner of Brenda, loving daddy of Maria, Jim, Connor, Owen, Adrian, Christopher, Conor and Lynette. A loving granda to all his grandchildren and brother of Liam, Mary, Betty, Kate and the late Geraldine. Also, an uncle and friend to many. R.I.P. Jim will be reposing at his home 23 Ardcaoin Gardens from Thursday. Jim will then leave on Saturday at 9.30am to arrive at Church of the Nativity for 10.00am Requiem Mass followed by burial in Milltown Cemetery. Deeply regretted by his entire family circle. The 2026/27 season gets underway this weekend, starting with our boys 11 aside leagues.

Months of preparation, training and anticipation come down to this. Teams back on the pitch, competitive football returning and another season of memories waiting to be made.

From the first whistle to the final game, we hope everyone involved enjoys what grassroots football is all about. Playing the game, representing your club and enjoying football with your teammates.

To our coaches, volunteers, referees and everyone working behind the scenes. Thank you for making it happen.

Youth Season 2026/27 Begins with a Win!

One of our two U18 sides got the ball rolling with the first Friday night under the lights of the season.
