🏌️♀️ Inter-Club Competition Update 🏌🏻♂️
After another busy period of inter club matches here are the results:
Jimmy Bruen ⛳️
The team came up against a very strong Cushendall side and were unfortunately beaten 3-1. Played in challenging wet and windy conditions, the players battled hard throughout but were unable to overcome a quality opposition.
Holt Shield ⛳️
The team continued their positive start to the group stage with a hard-fought 3–3 draw against Shandon Park. The result adds more valuable points to their tally and keeps qualification hopes firmly alive heading into the final group match.
Belfast & District ⛳️
A closely contested tie saw Ballymena narrowly lose out to Holywood by a 4–2 scoreline. Despite the defeat, several matches were extremely tight and the team can take plenty of positives from the performance.
Irish Mixed Foursomes ⛳️
The team’s run came to an end with a 3–1 defeat against Moyola. While disappointed with the result, everyone involved represented the club superbly throughout the competition.
Barton Shield ⛳️
An outstanding effort from the team in what proved to be a long and dramatic day of golf. The lads secured an excellent victory over Massereene in the morning session, winning by two holes to progress. They then faced Whitehead in the second tie of the day and, after another tremendous battle, narrowly missed out after losing on the 2nd tie hole. A seriously impressive performance from the entire team and very unfortunate not to advance further.
Ulster Cup ⛳️
Having taken a 4–3 advantage into the second leg at Scrabo following their home victory, the team gave a great account of themselves but were unable to hold on over the two legs. Despite the disappointment, they can be proud of a highly competitive performance throughout the tie.
Pierce Purcell ⛳️
The team produced a brilliant display against Rosapenna, securing victory after a dramatic 1st tie hole win . A fantastic result against strong opposition and one that sees the team continue their impressive run in the competition.

Holt Shield – Group Stage Match 3 ⛳️
Ballymena take on Royal Belfast in the final group match. The lads will be looking to finish the group phase strongly as they aim to secure qualification for the knockout stages of the competition.

Pierce Purcell – Quarter Final ⛳️
Following their impressive victory over Rosapenna, the team now faces Castlerock in the quarter-final. Another tough challenge awaits as they look to continue their excellent run in the competition and book a place in the semi-finals.

While some results may not have gone the way we would have liked, we would like to sincerely thank every player who has represented Ballymena Golf Club in inter-club competition throughout the season. The commitment, effort and pride shown in wearing the club colours has been greatly appreciated.
A special mention must also go to all of our team captains for their continued hard work, organisation and support throughout the year. Their dedication behind the scenes plays a huge role in making these campaigns possible.🤝
With two teams still remaining in competitions, we would encourage all members to get behind them and offer their support where possible.🙌
