Courts 1 and 2 at Towers Leisure Centre:) are available to book and play on again this week. Both have refreshed floors. There's good grip on the floor surface and you can hear the varnish creaking when you walk on court. This is a pic of court 3, so the floor and markings are refreshed, but the screws and plugs are still in the right hand side wall, so it'll be a while longer before the walls are refreshed. The viewing gallery is still partitioned off with the notice board on gallery side, so hopefully that will be repositioned and opened up before the work is complete.

So no further club nights this side of the summer. I've asked for the block bookings to be removed so that members and public can book the courts. So use Monday nights to get some box league matches played?

We're working with Squash Ulster on a new initiative. We'll be visiting schools over the next week or so to try to build some support for a local schools cup squash challenge early in 2027. We'll be looking for some pupils to give squash a go in the autumn, provide some coaching sessions, get them playing each other to work out some appropriate handicaps if necessary.

If you've any contacts within secondary schools, please encourage them to participate. Registration form link here: https://forms.gle/vFwNZmoH4e9F3TQj6

I called into the courts this afternoon - lots of work being done to the floors, loads of plastic wood being injected between boards (so hopefully that'll stop them sliding about). Looks like a good thorough job. Not just to the courts, they've done the spin studio, the balcony at very back of the seating area, floor of the seating area.

Come join us tonight - last chance to see the courts as they were after 50 years of squashing.

This will be our last formal meet up of this season. Why?

Next week the courts will be closed for refurbishment 🎉.

The week after the courts will be closed for the late May Bank Holiday.

And then it's June and people start taking holidays, running and other outdoors stuff.

When we return, we'll have 3 fresh and new looking courts 🎉

Also - pic of Double Dot Dashers at the Parkrun on Saturday morning 🏃🏻‍♂️.
