August round up

August started with a trip to Belgium to take part in the Antwerp and Belgium Opens. I really wasn't sure how I was going to get on as I was having a flare up of my Eosinophilic Oesophagitis which meant I wasn't able to eat or really keep any fluids down.

That being said I was pleased to make the last 32 on the Saturday at the Unicorn Antwerp Open meaning I picked up a few more WDF ranking points. I went in to the Sunday hoping for more of the same.

Well, it completely exceeded my expectations as I finished runner up in the Unicorn Belgium Open which not only gained a good few more ranking points about also qualified me for the World Masters 2027.

Next up was a trip to Glenrothes to watch my brother Ethan Todd and his NI teammates take part in the JDC Nations Cup. Although strange to not be taking part I was extremely proud watching them all, many of whom were playing in an NI top for the first time. They all done themselves proud.

Thanks to Robbie Long I did get the chance to play some darts as he organised a tournament on the Saturday night for anyone to take part in. Although it was just a bit of fun I was delighted to finally get a win again after what feels like too long.

I finished the month off taking part in the trials for Area 2. As we prepare to start our county season I was buzzing to take the win and hope I can continue this form into our county games.

August was more than I could ever have hoped for with my darts and I am now looking forward to seeing what the rest of the year has in store with Killarney, JDC World Cup and the start of the NIDO all coming up.

Yesterday was a big day, the last qualifier for this year's Team NI selection for Gibraltar.

With this being my last year I really wanted to qualify again but also set myself the goal of fighting my way back into the A team.

There was still lots to play for yesterday and nothing was decided for certain right up until the result of the final.

I am absolutely over the moon to say I secured the last spot available on the A team joining Thomas The Tank Elliott , Christian Ennis and Tiernan Adams Darts.

Really excited to see what we can do this year alongside an extremely strong B Team with Leo Jamieson, Lee Shields , Conleith Curley and Jesse Cartmill.

England Open 7th June 2026

Was really excited to get over to Selsey to play in another WDF event. The youth tournament started as a round robin. Of the 61 players entered it was hard to believe that me and Ethan Todd were drew in the same group!!

I managed to top my group making it through to the knockout phase. I was really pleased to see I finished 6th in the leaderboard for the group stage given the talent that was there.

I won my last 32 match, and survived a deciding leg on my last 16 to make it into the quarter finals where I faced the very talented Jack Nankervis. Going 2-0 I somehow brought it back to 2-2. However my darts left me in the deciding leg and Jack came out victorious. It was a great game and I am still happy with how far I got.

I managed the joint lowest leg of darts in the knockout stage too with a 13 darter.

All round it was a great weekend

Another good weekend at the JDC Foundation Tour Ireland.

Sunday didn't quite go how I would have liked but was glad to have had a solid performance on the Saturday making a semi final and a quarter final. I recorded the leg with the lowest darts during event 9 whilst also having the third highest match average.

It was good to catch up with friends I don't always get to see and it was great to have 3 NI boys down competing. Well done to Ethan Todd and Arthur Mckeever also making it to a semi final each over the weekend.

JDC NI Gibraltar Qualifier 6.

Another good day of darts and pleased to make it to the semi final.

Currently sitting 5th with 4 more events left, hoping I can keep pushing on.

Amazing to have had a weekend of WDF darts right on my doorstep last weekend.

Friday night was the pairs competition. I paired up with my fellow team NI teammate from last year, Rocco. We managed to get through our first match making it to the top 64 but just couldn't get our darts going in that match.

Saturday saw the Open Youth event which started with a round robin format. I was placed in a group of 5. I was really happy with how I played during these games, winning all 4 and o lying dropping one leg along the way. Looking back at the round robin performance I was extremely proud to see I had the lowest darts leg by finishing a leg in 13 darts.

Through to the knockout out stage I managed to keep my form going and made it to the quarter finals.

I would like to thank Stuart Robertson for all this help and guidance over the last year in helping me understand my mentality when it comes to playing!!

It was a fantastic day of darts which showcased the talent we have here in NI. I was extremely proud to see 2 good mates on the stage for the final. Well done to Rocco Sterling on making the final, your darts in the knockouts were amazing. A very special congratulations to Thomas The Tank Elliott on taking the win and getting himself his first WDF title!!

Also a massive well done to Neil Duff on winning the NI Open, a very special win on home soil. It was great to catch up with you too, thanks for all the words of encouragement!!

Congratulations to the NIDO executive on getting the NI Open back onto the WDF calendar and organising such a successful event for in such a short space of time 👏

Another weekend of WDF darts but this time right on my doorstep. Amazing to have the NI Open back.

Totally forgot to post about my last weekend of WDF darts which was the Scottish Open on February.

Had the absolute pleasure of playing with my wee mate Owen Bryceland in the pairs where we got to the last 64!!

Saturday was the Open Youth were I topped my group winning all 4 of my matches to make it to the knockout stage. Really pleased to make it to the last 16 and to pick up a few more ranking points

Let's hope this weekend can bring some of the same.

Home from my first foundation tour of the year and happy with how it went.

My scoring was there most of the weekend, my doubles did let me down at times but I did manage some big checkouts.

I played some great players and some of the games were extremely close. It was good to get some more competition experience outside of my norm. Hoping I can take a lot of what I learned this weekend into the rest of the year.
