What a night at the Garmisch Olympia Sport Stadium! Ireland punched their ticket forward with a fiercely contested 2-1 playoff victory over China, avenging an early pool-play loss and proving they are peak dark-horse material.
China struck first blood just 4 minutes in, but the Irish resilience showed out in the second half. Jozef Fotta ( #66) leveled the game, and then turned provider to feed Juraj Bajmoczy ( #88) for the game-winner with less than five minutes on the clock! 🚨
Absolute brick wall performance from Richie Barry in net, stopping 22 of 23 shots (.957 SV%) to lock down the win under massive late pressure. 🧱

🏆 On May 29th, our Norstar team had the great honour and privilege of visiting the Mayor of Ballymena and presenting the trophy we proudly earned as champions of the Under 13 Inline Hockey League! 🏆

It was a truly special occasion for our young players, who had the opportunity to share their achievement and represent our club with pride. The meeting was warm, welcoming, and filled with great conversation, along with some lovely refreshments, coffee, and tea.

For our players, it was an unforgettable experience and a wonderful recognition of all the hard work, dedication, and teamwork that led to their success. For Norstar, it was a moment of great pride and prestige.

We would like to sincerely thank the Mayor of Ballymena for the warm welcome and for taking the time to celebrate this achievement with us. Moments like these remind our young players that hard work and commitment can lead to truly memorable opportunities.

And as for the trophy... we're happy to report that it behaved very well and didn't try to take over the Mayor's office! 😄

After a whole week of waiting… THE trophy finally arrived at our club! 🏆✨

Norstar Academy, after winning the entire 2025/2026 league season and becoming League Winners, received medals and a temporary trophy last week. But everyone was waiting for this special moment…

And today it finally happened — the real trophy arrived at our club! 😍🔥

There was so much joy, smiles, and excitement everywhere. Now we can officially say:

Norstar Academy — the best of the best! 💜 ⭐

Congratulations to the whole team, the coaches, all the staff working hard behind the scenes, and the parents who were all part of this amazing season! 🥇

Bangor Chiefs Inline Hockey Club is running an exciting summer camp if anyone is interested.

1️⃣ Week 1 - Monday 13th July - Wednesday 15th July
2️⃣ Week 2 - Monday 20th July - Wednesday 22nd July

⏰9:30-14:00 everyday
😀For players aged 8-16. Players will be split into appropriate age groups.
Younger/Older players on a case-by-case basis
💷£85 for 3 days

Please note:

🏒🪖Players must have use of their own equipment and be able to put their own equipment on & off; some assistance will be given to ensure skates are tightened.

🛑This camp is designed for players currently playing, not beginners.

​What a difference a year makes! From finishing second to last in the 2024/2025 season to standing at the top of the podium today—the Ballymena Norstar U13s are officially the Inline Hockey Ireland League Champions 2026! 🥇🏒
​This season has been nothing short of legendary. The team went UNDEFEATED with a record of:

❌ 0 Losses

​In a nail-biting clash against the Dublin Flying Ducks at a packed Portadown rink, the tension was at an all-time high.
​The Ducks took an early lead, but Norstar responded with lightning speed.
​Beau ( #29) fired home two quick goals to put us ahead!
​Despite a late surge from the Ducks, our goalie Vlad ( #39) was a wall, and the team battled hard to secure a 2-2 draw—enough to clinch the league title!
