Your warm-up is often the first thing to get rushed… but it can set the tone for the whole session 👀

🧘A good warm-up isn’t about spending 20 minutes stretching everything in sight.

It’s about gradually getting the body moving, working through the ranges you’ll need, and building up towards the intensity of what you’re about to do.

There’s no perfect warm-up for everyone — it should match the session ahead.

Keep it simple, Keep it relevant and Get yourself ready to move. 💪

A Sports Therapists job is a lot more than getting you lying on a treatment table.

Our job is to understand what’s stopping you doing what you want to do, help you understand the problem, manage the symptoms and build a plan to get you back there.

Sometimes hands-on treatment is useful. Sometimes we need to modify your training. Sometimes you need to get stronger. Most of the time, it’s a combination.

The goal isn’t to keep you coming back forever.

It’s to give you the confidence and capacity to get back to doing your thing. 💪

⭐️Client Success⭐️

👏Congrats to one of our long term clients Christopher on completing the Hillsborough Half Marathon over the weekend.

Christopher had been with us for almost 2 years now and has went from someone who had never stepped foot in a gym or even ran before to throwing himself at every challenge and opportunity going, the growth of character and confidence we have witnessed as he’s progressed has been amazing.

🏃He’s now working hard towards a second and third half marathon in August/September and the Belfast full marathon next May.

🚨Stretching isn’t always the Answer🚨

❌One of the biggest misconceptions we see is that every ache or tight muscle just needs more stretching.

The truth?
Sometimes the muscle feels “tight” because it’s weak, overworked, or protecting an irritated joint. Stretching might give temporary relief, but if you don’t address the real cause, the problem usually comes straight back.

As of 1st August 2026 , we’ll be making a small adjustment to our pricing.

This isn’t a decision I’ve taken lightly. Like many small businesses, i’ve seen the cost of running the clinic continue to rise over the past 2 years. To continue providing the standard you expect, maintain our facilities, invest in new equipment and staff, and give every client the time and attention they deserve, a price increase has unfortunately become necessary.

I want to thank every one of you for your continued support and trust in us. It’s because of our loyal clients that JLCSportsTherapy has been able to do things that I didn’t think were possible when I first started the business in a small cubicle in Wolverhampton University library.

Any appointments booked before 1st August will be honoured at our current prices, even if the appointment itself takes place after the price change.

I truly appreciate your understanding and continued support, and we look forward to helping you move better, recover stronger, and achieve your goals for many years to come.

❗️Let’s talk posture❗️

On Monday we touched on how today’s society forces us to sit more than it forces us to be active and how that can cause pain in the lower back.

So we thought why not show you how you should sit, meet Ross and Rachel.

🧔‍♂️Ross
❌Likes to Slouch forward in his chair and has a very rounded upper spine and very flat lower spine
❌Daily pain in his back while he works and is starting to develop chronic back issues
❌Neck Pain and Migraines daily
❌Hips Feel as if they will need replaced by 40 years old
❌Can’t concentrate on his Job

✅Maintains a neutral spine position when seated
✅ No lower back pain while working and has a healthy moving spine
✅No Neck pain or Migraines
