If I haven’t done it, if I don’t do it, I won’t ask you to do it either.

As a coach, I believe in leading from the front. The sessions I put my fighters and clients through are built on experience, not theory. I’ve felt the hard rounds, the conditioning circuits, the early mornings, and the setbacks.

That’s why I know what works.

Today I had the pleasure of working 1-to-1 with Gaelic footballer Conan McKeown.

Although Conan has previous boxing experience, today’s session combined a variety of disciplines including boxing, grappling-based movements, and conditioning work designed to challenge him in different ways.

Athletes often spend most of their time focused on their primary sport, but stepping into new environments and learning new skills can improve coordination, fitness, body awareness, resilience, and overall athleticism.

Winning the Ulster Senior Championship alongside a great man, Joe Kelly, is a memory l'll always cherish.
Before this year, I had a difficult journey in boxing, dealing with multiple hand injuries and plenty of setbacks along the way. There were times when I questioned whether l'd ever reach the level I knew I was capable of.
That's what made winning this title so special. It wasn't just about becoming Ulster Champion it was about overcoming adversity, staying the course, and finally seeing the hard work pay off.
It's a moment in my amateur boxing career that I'l forever be grateful for and one that l'll always look back on with pride.
