Hi folks

Unfortunately due to the late start to spring works this year after a very wet March and early April we have decided to postpone Greenkeepers Revenge til October.

While a shame i really want to show the course in its best light and use the current dry weather to continue to get the greens looking as best as possible rather than be distracted.

The good news is that this year Halloween falls on a Saturday, so we can come up with some extra dastardly plots to keep out your putts and make Greenkeepers Revenge a bigger and better event when it returns October 31st!!

Greenkeepers Revenge!!! 😈⛳️

On Sunday 3rd May, one of the most entertaining (and slightly bizarre) dates in the Woodlands calendar returns as I take full control. Expect quirky obstacles, unusual tees and holes placed in positions that may raise eyebrows. Played as a 9-hole shotgun start in Texas Scramble format (teams of four), the event is free for members or £10 for non-members. Sign up via the Scottish Golf app or email [email protected].

It’s a beautiful morning on the course and looks like a wee break in the weather aswell. Believe it or not we are in April! The course is back on to standard tees and I’ll be busy working away to get the course in the best shape as the weather gets better.

While it’s been a slow start to the season we do have all the usual competitions planned for the year aswell as something new!

These will be more lighthearted challenges that will run over a couple of months at a time to bring some extra fun and community spirit to the course, and all proceeds from these will be going to local primary schools so please take part whenever you can!

Next time you’re playing, pop into the Clubhouse and have a go. £1 per ball, hole 3, aim bravely! No shortcuts (the measuring wheel is ready and we’re not afraid to use it!). Your name and distance go on the board and at the end of May the top three win prizes. All proceeds go to St Bride’s Primary fundraiser for their new classroom pod, so even if you miss the green entirely, it’s still for a brilliant cause.
