Natalie Wood Equestrian With 28 years of experience riding horses, specifically in Dressage, I am available for schooling/tr

I started riding at the age of 4 and now, age 29 I have gained a lot of experience with all types of horses. I got my first pony (Connemara - Molly, 14.2hh) at the age of 9 and started attending local shows. I soon found that Dressage was my vocation and took to it well. I was a member of BYRDS and competed at Dressage on Molly until I unfortunately outgrew her. During this time I rode many differ

ent horses at the livery yard I was at, winning 'Rider with most potential' in East Derbyshire region. In 2000, at the age of 12, I got my first horse (Trakehner - Moonstar, 17hh) as a 3 y.o. However after getting his leg stuck in a gate, damage to his nearside fore tendon meant he was never truly sound again, so we never got to competition level. In 2001 I got my second horse (Trakehner - Verena, 16.1hh) as a 2 y.o. After being broken in we had a tough few months battling against each other's wills, but through determination we got there. I still own and compete Verena now, at the age of 18 and we ride at Advanced Medium level. I now put my skills to use by schooling other people's horses as well as my best friend Verena, whom I train with Jane Green. If you don't have as much time as you'd like to ride or would like someone to progress your horse's schooling-work forwards when you've hit a rut then I could help you. If you are interested please send me a message and I will get back to you to set up an appointment if requested.

First ride on my new arena! 💜

It’s finally had a decent amount of rain to make it rideable. Just need them to mix it one more time now it’s damp and then hopefully I’ll be back up and running!

“Love you” 🥰

Everyone has conversations with their horses right? Not just me? 😝 You’ve got to when working from home, otherwise you might not talk to anyone else in the day time 😂

🎬 Few clips from today’s schooling 🙂

Enjoying the cooler weather, it’s nicer to work black horses in!

💫 She really is the sweetest little horse 🥰Yes she’d just had a drink and dribbled all over me 😂

Lexi vs horseflies 🪰

Some interesting moves yesterday from Lexi and I don’t blame her as there were about 5 horseflies around us at once. We managed 5 mins and called it a day as I couldn’t get anything done. I want all her ridden experiences to be pleasant so she learns being ridden is fun and today wasn’t, better luck next time 🪰

💜Video from Lexi’s mini lesson the other day.

So pleased with how she’s progressed even though all we’ve had is an uneven bit of sloped field to work on. The ground is also so hard that we can’t do too much, this is the most trot we’ve ever done in one go 😂

Little Lexi had a mini lesson (15mins!) yesterday. A little unnerving giving her free rein in order to get going forward when the steering is still intermittent 😂

She’s very sensitive to the reins so I have to hold them out loose to make sure that there’s no contact on there as she thinks that’s signalling to slow down.

We trotted about 5 circles which is the most ever so far 😂 She did very well and Jane is very happy with how I’ve done with her as she hasn’t seen her since April

Baby Lexi’s first tantrum (if you can really call it that, it was very demure!)

She wasn’t impressed as Verena had come in for the farrier first, which lead to much bucking and rearing in the field whilst I got the tack so I knew I was in for an interesting ride. But as you can see, even whilst being annoyed, she was still pretty well behaved 😂

Calmed down after about 5 mins and then we were back to business as usual 😃

✨Baby Lexi - attempt at some sideways steps, I think she did very well for a first go!

Lexi is still learning how to have her legs pulled, it’s more like a wrestling match at the moment 😝

Cute that she already lifts the next one ready though 🥰
