Discover the stunning Hope Valley, with routes linking Castleton, Edale, Bamford, Hathersage and Ladybower Reservoir. From gentle rides to more challenging adventures, there’s something for every cyclist.

Starting from Hassop Station, you’ll be straight onto the traffic-free Monsal Trail, passing through spectacular tunnels, across historic viaducts, and taking in some of Derbyshire’s most breathtaking views.
See Monsal Dale, Water cm jollydale , Millers Dale, Cheedale & Blackwell Mill at the trails end.

Opening July ☀️🚲🌊

Exciting news for visitors to Carsington Water!

We’re delighted to announce that Carsington Waterside will be opening at Carsington Water this summer as our new leisure operator 🚲

Following the sad liquidation of our previous operator last year, we’re really pleased to welcome an experienced team with a fantastic track record in outdoor leisure and visitor experiences. You may already know them from successful businesses including Hassop Station Café & Bike Hire.
Initially, visitors will be able to enjoy bike hire, with paddlesports launching later this summer. There may also be even more exciting activities to come in the future 👀

We’re also pleased to share that we are currently in the process of arranging a lease with a new fishery operator, which we expect to be in place by Spring 2027 🎣

We’re looking forward to seeing Carsington Waterside become a great addition to the reservoir and helping even more people enjoy the outdoors at Carsington Water.

CYCLE HIRE STAFF WANTED 🚲

Working one weekend day and during school holidays in our busy cycle hire centre ‘Monsal Trail Cycle Hire’ at Hassop Station just outside Bakewell on the Monsal Trail.
A knowledge of bikes is needed and a cheerful can-do attitude for customers.
It is physical work taking bikes to and from customers and also working on the till hiring out bikes.
If you are passionate about customer service, the Peak District and all things cycling and the outdoors we would love to hear from you.
