๐Ÿ”ฅ TEST WEEK IS HERE... AND WHAT A WAY TO START! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

This week kicked off with Back Squat testing, and the results have been incredible.

Over the last 6 weeks, our members have been following a structured strength cycle designed and delivered by our coaching team, and the hard work is paying off.

We've seen PB after PB on Monday, with some members adding 10kg, 12.5kg, even 15kg+ to their previous best lifts and more importantly, doing it with confidence and control.

The best part? This isn't a miracle programme or a quick fix.

It's the result of:

Over the course of 4 weeks a number of our members got involved with our โ€˜steps challengeโ€™ and together we smashed over 10 million steps and showed what consistency can achieve.

WHY WE PROGRAMME ROPE CLIMBS AT THE YARD

Every time rope climbs appear on the board, we know there are usually two reactionsโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ˜Ž โ€œYESSSS!โ€
๐Ÿ˜… โ€œAbsolutely not.โ€

But thereโ€™s a reason we programme them and also a reason we DONโ€™T do them all the time.

At The Yard, rope climbs arenโ€™t just about getting to the top of a rope. They build:
๐Ÿ’ช Grip strength
๐Ÿ’ช Upper body pulling strength
๐Ÿ’ช Core control
๐Ÿ’ช Coordination
๐Ÿ’ช Confidence

And most importantlyโ€ฆ they teach you how to move your body efficiently under fatigue.

The reason we donโ€™t programme them every week is because rope climbs place a huge demand on the hands, shoulders, elbows, and grip. Like anything in training, too much volume can lead to overuse and fatigue.

Instead, we programme them intentionally:
โœ… To challenge you
โœ… To develop new skills
โœ… To expose weaknesses
โœ… To build confidence doing hard things

And believe it or notโ€ฆ rope climbs actually transfer into everyday life more than people think...

Think about:
Carrying heavy shopping bags
Picking up kids repeatedly
Lifting and pulling awkward objects
Having the strength and coordination to control your own bodyweight

Itโ€™s real-world strength.

But the BEST part? Watching members get their first rope climb.

That moment where someone who once said:
๐Ÿ‘‰ โ€œIโ€™ll never be able to do thatโ€ฆโ€

suddenly gets their feet locked in, stands tall, and climbs higher than they ever thought possible.

Those moments are what itโ€™s all about.

Not because rope climbs are essential for lifeโ€ฆ but because proving to yourself that you CAN do something difficult changes the way you approach everything else too.

And whether youโ€™re climbing to the top or working on progressions from the floor youโ€™re still building strength, confidence, and resilience every single step of the way.
