What a great day for the annual Warriors BBQ, lots of fun and games was had by all. The food wasn't bad either and everyone chipped in on the day. Thank you all for making it a great day.

Our Men's 1st team played their penultimate league match last night at Home vs FBI.

Unfortunately yet another team whose 3rd pair weren't ready to start until 7:55pm. However, unlike the debacle with Eaton Eagles where we tried to be sporting and it cost us the match, we claimed this game to keep the match moving.

Thanks to a valiant effort from our guys, it didn't affect any result as our men fought hard to secure a deserved 7-2 win, despite the opposition bringing in a Ringer (*cough* Traitor *cough*) :D

Special mentions to all 6 players, Steven Roberts for playing while still not fully fit, Sam for playing with an arm injury meaning he could barely hit anything harder than a light tap and to Josh for covering Sam and stepping up to play really well, despite a few nerves. ALso to Tim for soldiering on, depsite looking very tired, Matt for running his legs off and to Tom just for playing having only recently become a father (glad you managed to stay awake lol).

All in all, some great games, great comebacks and great play by everyone, very well done guys!

Warriors Badminton Club Mixed 1st team played last night against the regularly strong Besthorpe team, who were also in Divsion 2 last year, so rather a spot of rivalry in the air!

Including an unusually slow start from Steven Roberts and Lucy, the whole team were visibly nervous in the initial games, although our 1st pair went on to break the opponents mentally, which was great to watch as always.
In true Warriors style, captain Tim Witting and Fiona Campbell Nerney stood firm and resolute, leading by example, rallying all of our pairs who responded with conviction. We won't mention Fiona not knowing there was even a match seeing as the captain hadn't told her lol
However, indubitably the stars of the show were our 3rd pair, newly formed Debs and Alex Ridgway! Defying the odds as a new partnership, they obliterated the opponents and won all 3 games convincingly.
The team earned a fully deserved 7-2 win, which is especially good considering there were some dodgy line calls and un-sportsmanlike play with the opponents shouting and shrieking mid-rally to try and put our players off.
Well fought Warriors, onwards and upwards!
