My inspiration!

Pete came to me 5 years ago after suffering a stroke. He had lost movement in one side of his body with minimal movement in his both his arm and leg.

We started with little movements, slowly building up, putting the pieces together to create a full movement. We did this for weeks and months until he was able to start to move like before.

Pete has such ferocity and determination he didn't want to sit idly by and do nothing....this has paid off big time! His transformation has been incredible. From not being able to walk unassisted to running. Unable to get off of the floor to lunging.....you name it he can do it!

Want to see better results? Control your weights!

Have you ever seen someone throwing some heavy weights around the gym? Maybe seen someone flopping around trying to impress everyone with how much they lift? I bet they can't do that same weight with a bit of control.

Controlling your weights especially in the eccentric (negative or downwards) phase is where the magic really happens. This is the portion of the rep that is really going to help improve your strength, size or endurance based on your goals.

If you are struggling to increase how much you lift try playing with your tempo. Lower your weight for 2 seconds instead of 1. Remember to control the lift on the concentric (lifting) phase. Now that feels harder doesn't it!

George came to me stuck in a rut! She found it difficult to keep her motivation up and to keep weight off.

She was also struggling for time having children and needed a solution....so we embarked on my 12 week program. Working together we created something she could get stuck into, without sacrificing a huge amount of time throughout the week and the results speak for themselves!

She is 10lbs down and counting, is fitter, healthier, more confident, more motivated and has a greater knowledge on how to sustain these results.

Want to feel younger? Stretch!

When we are young we are very flexible and mobile. Once you get to school you begin sitting and staying stationary for long periods of time. Through years and years of sitting and hunching over, our bodies become gnarled up and immobile. Muscles become imbalanced, some shorten and become tight, others lengthen and weaken. This makes you much more susceptible to injury!

But there is a solution....Stretching! Running through a basic stretching routine each day for 10-15 minutes can help you bring your body back into alignment. This plus a strengthening program will help you see improvements in posture and general mobility.

At 72 years old John came to me wanting to loose weight and sort his knees out. He had lost weight before but had found it difficult to maintain once he had got down to his goal weight. He would always end up putting it back on.

So I told him we were going to be mainly using weights with some cardiovascular exercise added during the week. He was skeptical at first but the results speak for themselves.

Not only has John lost 20kg (44 lbs) and counting, he has also reversed his diabetes, massively reduced his knee pain, increased his strength, improved his mobility and found a diet that he can use to sustain his weight loss whilst enjoying foods he likes and all in his 70's.

Food!
The subject of food can be touchy and controversial for many. There are so many fad diets out there from juicing to the carnivore diet. These diets are a fast way to weight loss but are far from being sustainable. A lot of the time you will gain back more weight than you lost following the end of the program as you have starved yourself and then binge like hell. You could end up anxious and so food obsessed you won't enjoy eating or going out.

SO what we are looking to do is to create a sustainable diet. This all starts with being aware of what you are putting into your body, when you are eating and how much you are drinking. Once you become aware of this it makes it alot easier to start making healthier choices and small changes.

And you won't have to sacrifice eating some of life's finer foods.
