Let’s ignore my terrible selfie skills for a moment shall we?
I’d like to introduce you to Tina, one of the most inspirational people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting
Tina is a Buckinghamshire Community Champion who has won a Nation Hero Award, as well as being involved in numerous other community initiatives in and around Aylesbury. Born with Cerebral Palsy, life hasn’t always been the easiest for Tina, but that hasn’t stopped her from dedicating her time to helping others
I asked her if she wouldn’t mind me sharing a little of her story and our work together, and asked if she had anything she’d like to share, and this is what she said:
‘Don’t let anything get you down for too long, being disabled is a pain, but being alive is even better’
Unfortunately Tina had a fall not long ago that meant she couldn’t be as mobile as she wanted
Which is what prompted her to get in touch with me because, in her words, ‘something had to change’, and she didn’t want it to happen again
We’ve been working together for long enough that she had this to say about personal training -
‘You’re absolutely amazing and I couldn’t have done without you’
Training can sometimes feel intimidating, but it isn’t just about 6 packs and throwing around the heaviest weights possible in the gym
Personal training is about guiding you in ways that work with you,
To help you get stronger, manage pain, improve your balance and most importantly, be as independent for as long as possible
In Tina’s words: ‘Don’t be too proud, get it done and be proactive’
And if you feel a bit stuck, message me the word ‘proactive’ and we’ll find a way that works for you
