Here at Leap our aim is to enable 50,000 people to get more active for life across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes by 2017. Whether that’s through taking part, coaching, leading or volunteering in sport and activity we want to help make it happen. Working with key stakeholders, including Sport England, we embrace innovative and creative ways to help people be more active and are committed to mak

ing a difference to the health, wellbeing and success of the county. Leap, formerly Bucks Sport, is the brand name of the Bucks & MK Sport and Activity Partnership, a not for profit organisation, and one of 49 County Sports Partnerships nation-wide, that form a key element of the delivery system for sport across England. Locally, Buckinghamshire has an important role to play in the legacy from the London 2012 games as the home of the Paralympics. You can find out more information about this legacy by visiting the Bucks Legacy website. Help more women get moving with Move for 10

This Girl Can has launched Move for 10, a new challenge encouraging women to fit 10 minutes of movement into 10 days each month, in a way that works for them.

The campaign is all about making movement feel achievable and helping women discover how good moving can feel, whatever activity they choose. Whether it's walking, dancing, stretching, cycling, joining a local class or playing with the kids, every movement counts. πŸ‘

If you're working directly with residents and communities, this could be a useful campaign to share through your networks. Free communications resources are available, including ready-made social media assets and promotional materials that can be used across resident-facing channels.

By helping spread the word, we can encourage more women to discover simple ways to move more, boost their wellbeing and build movement into everyday life.

πŸ”— Links to the campaign and partner toolkit will be shared in the comments.

Securing the Place Universal Offer and what it means for Buckinghamshire πŸ€”

This investment will initially focus on Aylesbury South-West πŸ“ , where levels of inactivity remain high and wider challenges such a deprivation and access to safe and welcoming spaces continue to shape people’s ability to be active.

In Aylesbury South-West only 44.9% of children and young people in the area are currently active, and levels of deprivation and low-income households are significantly higher than the county average.

This investment will support partners and communities to work together to address the wider systems that shape activity, from access to green spaces and safe routes, to transport, housing and local environments.

By starting here, we have the opportunity too:
- Work closely with communities to understand what matters most πŸ‘‚
- Test and learn what works πŸ“‹
- Build stronger, more connected systems across partners 🀝
- Create insight that can shape future work across Bucks. 🌍

Crucially, learning from this work will be shared across Buckinghamshire to support wider, long‑term change. Find out how this work will support community‑led change (linked in comments)
