❤️❤️Never give up on your dream, sometimes your dream becomes your why ❤️❤️
Back in 2016, Si and I had been trying to have a family for over 7 years.. we had experienced loss and frustration, life was a roller coaster…. but….
I was determined not to give up on our little family dreams, although we had decided that IVF was not for us personally. I was determined to look inside to see if I could change anything within myself….
I had to dig deep, really deep, It was emotional and messy and I made a lot of changes, at times it was challenging and overwhelming…. but it was so very very worth it:
So what changes did I make?
Nutrition: I decided to cut out gluten and dairy and began to embrace good fats as a result of working closely with a nutritional therapist. (i had previously followed a low fat diet for many years).
Mindset:I practised daily affirmations, such as “I have a healthy body and organs that will allow me to become pregnant and support me through a healthy pregnancy so that I can be a great a supportive mom”
I had regular Reiki and Reflexology treatments, practised meditation regularly, thought about the colours I was wearing, the products I used and really started to enjoy life a whole lot more.
I focused on self care and……ensuring that although I love exercise, it came into balance to include more pilates, yoga, brainfit.. the softer more nuturing side of execise.
What surprised me was that I became inclined to share a few of these strategies with others to help them too, and to open up about my journey.
What just struck me is that as I opened up and started to share my journey and experience, it wasn’t long until I was pregnant and was able to carry a healthy pregnancy ❤️
I now see that as soon as started sharing the love of what I was doing: bingo I was blessed myself and we now have a beautiful daughter who I am grateful for every day.
I was intially afraid to be vunerable, I thought sharing my experience would burden others, when in fact it turned out it was liberating for me and empowering for those who I work with too!
And of course, I now have a beautiful daughter, yes i’m an older parent, but we love, laugh, play, dance and train together, and I am so grateful for that!
Is my body perfect? No… but it’s mine and it’s given me the best gift I could ever wish for, am I working on becoming the best version of myself everyday.. yes ❤️ but it’s about consistency not perfection 🙏
Why I am sharing this today?
Because I truly believe that sharing is caring and i’m always interested in the why behind making changes…..
So what is your why?
