SMKFC U12 Girls Blues 7–0 Goring Robins Reds
📍 Eskdale Road

Our second game of the season and what a performance it was! 💙

We started fast and controlled the game from the early stages, with some excellent passing, movement and teamwork. The girls were patient in possession, moved the ball really well and created plenty of chances.

It was fantastic to see five different goal scorers get on the scoresheet, highlighting the attacking threat we have throughout the team. ⚽️👏

Once we got the first goal, the confidence grew and we continued to dominate, with everyone contributing both going forward and defensively.

A 7–0 victory and another clean sheet is a fantastic result, but more importantly, the way the girls played was excellent. The intensity, passing and desire to keep going right until the final whistle were brilliant to see.

Another big step forward for this group. Plenty of positives to take and lots more to build on. 💪💙

⭐ SMKFC Girls U9 Blues vs AFC Henley Hunters U9 Girls ⭐

A welcome return to football! ⚽💙

The new season is officially underway, and what a way to kick off our Berkshire Girls League campaign!

With last season’s U8 squad now split into two teams due to the growing number of girls joining our club, our Blues got their league journey started at home against a strong and well-drilled AFC Henley Hunters side.

With 3 returning players and 4 new debutants taking to the pitch, there were understandably a few nerves as the girls looked to find their rhythm. Henley showed their quality and made it a challenging opening encounter.

However, as the game progressed, our girls really started to find their feet, going up through the gears and producing some fantastic football towards the end.

A huge well done to Summer, Kareena, Jasmine and Teodora on making their SMKFC debuts. An extra special mention to Summer and Teodora, who both got on the scoresheet on their first appearance! 👏⚽

Player of the Match: Ava! Had one of her best games for us showing great feet and worked really hard for the team throughout. 🙌

A fantastic game to learn from, plenty of positives to take away, and most importantly, the girls had fun.

A great start to the season. Very proud coach! 💙

HARPENDEN COLTS 3 🆚 4 SM&K ORANGES 🧡💙

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE FIND US A GOALKEEPER?! 🙏😂🧤

A huge performance from the girls today as they battled back from 3–1 down to win 4–3! 🔥

We didn’t start at our best and Harpenden punished us, but what followed showed exactly what this group is all about.

No panic. No heads dropping. They kept passing, kept playing our football and kept believing, while the coaches and parents aged approximately 20 years on the touchline. 😂

Even with nine minutes remaining, we still felt there was something in the game.

The girls clearly agreed.

They were absolutely relentless in that second half, pinning Harpenden back and eventually getting exactly what they deserved.

⚽️ Under 13 Blue ⚽️

New Kit day for the girls today, massive thanks to Sam and Jay for sponsoring the Home and Away kits.

A really determined effort from the u13 Blues "Stagatinas". The match finished 1-1 today, we took an early lead from a great througball from Charlotte on the diagonal for Poppy to take in her stride and finish well. We created a lot of chances but unfortunately their defence and keeper did well. Likewise our defense played well with a really gutsy performance, meeting the ball in the air, and getting tight to the the opposition. When Hoddesden did break through Summer was there to make some incredible saves, sometimes multiple saves! All in a really good effort from the girls today on our first away trip of the season against a very well drilled opposition.

⚽️U14 Match report⚽

Finchampstead Flame 0–7 Stoke Mandeville & Kingsbrook Stags

The girls put in a fantastic team performance today, coming away with a convincing 7–0 victory against Finchampstead Flame.

Considering the long journey and time spent in the car, it was a fast start from the Stags, with Seyi finding the net after just 37 seconds.
She then went on to complete a four-goal haul, with further goals from Alexa, Liesel and Autumn to round off the scoring.

We will definitely not be getting carried away with the result today as tougher tests will follow, and we can all have our off days.
There were definitely plenty of positives to take from the performance.
Our passing and link-up play continues to develop.
There were some really good examples of the girls moving the ball effectively and working together as a team.

Another big positive was our distribution from the back. Evelyn did a great job starting attacks from the goalkeeper position, finding the defence, and helping us transition from playing out at the back into attacking situations.
The girls also deserve a lot of credit for their work rate. They didn't stop running for the full game, showing great energy and commitment from the first whistle to the last.
Having four substitutes also gave us a great opportunity to rotate the squad and allow the girls to experience different positions. This is important for their development and gave us the chance to see how they adapted to new challenges.
We also saw Georgie make her full debut after signing from Aylesbury United. She put in a solid performance in defence and looks like a great addition to the squad.

Overall, it is a very positive performance and a deserved result. There is still plenty for us to work on, but the improvements in our passing, movement, link-up play, and ability to build attacks from the back are encouraging.

After a brilliant opening weekend, our girls are back at it again this Saturday! 💙🧡

Seven teams in action across the age groups, with plenty of miles on the road and three teams flying the flag at home.

Our U12 Blues welcome Goring Robins Reds our U10 Blues take on Ruislip Rangers and our U9 Blues face Beaconsfield Eagles.

Meanwhile, our U14 Blues, U13 Blues, U13 Oranges and U9 Oranges are all on their travels. 🚗⚽

Good luck to every single girl pulling on the shirt this weekend. Play your football, work for each other, enjoy yourselves and, most importantly, have fun! 💙

⚽ Match Report: U10 V Flackwell Heath

A really entertaining and closely fought game today, with the girls extremely unlucky to come away on the wrong side of a defeat.

There was very little between the two teams throughout the match, and a draw would probably have been a fair reflection of the game. Unfortunately, with the scores level and the game heading towards a deserved draw, the opposition produced an unbelievable strike from distance in the final minute to sn**ch the win.

A special mention has to go to Anabella in goal, who made a couple of crucial saves at important moments to keep us in the game. She showed great concentration and bravery when called upon and gave the team a chance right until the very end.

Chimka also deserves huge credit for a brilliant goal-saving tackle at a vital moment. With the opposition looking certain to score, she timed her challenge perfectly and kept the game in the balance.

Going forward, Elsie was once again a real driving force for the team. She got herself on the scoresheet and was a constant threat, coming close to adding more on several occasions. Her energy and determination helped push the team forward throughout the game.

Arayah continues to show really encouraging improvement with her striking. She worked herself into several excellent goalscoring positions and, on another day, could easily have walked away with a couple of goals. The chances are coming, and the improvement in her finishing and confidence is clear to see.

Ultimately, this was one of those games that genuinely could have gone either way. To lose it to a last-minute wonder goal from distance was incredibly unlucky, but there were plenty of positives to take from the performance.

The girls battled right until the final whistle, created plenty of opportunities and showed great character throughout.

A performance the girls can be proud of. ⚽👏

⭐️ Under 11s ⭐️

Today was the first game back and we travelled to Chipperfield, playing these twice last year we knew they were a good side and will defiantly be challenging us.

The girls got off to a quick start pressing really well like we haven’t been away. With Chipperfield defending well the kept us goal less in the first quarter.
With the first quarter over the girls were back at it and we finally got one past the keeper from outside the box up stepped Poppy to r***e one home for us. With this happening the girls had even more of a spring in there step, however with some resilient defending from the opposition they could only keep us out until the end of the 3rd quarter where Tia went on a solo mission to grab the other.
Final quarter finally was upon us and some tired legs out there the girls kept pushing and pushing and Tia popped up again to get her second. The very shortly after Tia took matters into her own hands to go again and bagged another to get her hat trick on her debut for the team.

Great start to the season from the girls and now let’s push on.
