⚽ Match Report: U10 V Flackwell Heath

A really entertaining and closely fought game today, with the girls extremely unlucky to come away on the wrong side of a defeat.

There was very little between the two teams throughout the match, and a draw would probably have been a fair reflection of the game. Unfortunately, with the scores level and the game heading towards a deserved draw, the opposition produced an unbelievable strike from distance in the final minute to sn**ch the win.

A special mention has to go to Anabella in goal, who made a couple of crucial saves at important moments to keep us in the game. She showed great concentration and bravery when called upon and gave the team a chance right until the very end.

Chimka also deserves huge credit for a brilliant goal-saving tackle at a vital moment. With the opposition looking certain to score, she timed her challenge perfectly and kept the game in the balance.

Going forward, Elsie was once again a real driving force for the team. She got herself on the scoresheet and was a constant threat, coming close to adding more on several occasions. Her energy and determination helped push the team forward throughout the game.

Arayah continues to show really encouraging improvement with her striking. She worked herself into several excellent goalscoring positions and, on another day, could easily have walked away with a couple of goals. The chances are coming, and the improvement in her finishing and confidence is clear to see.

Ultimately, this was one of those games that genuinely could have gone either way. To lose it to a last-minute wonder goal from distance was incredibly unlucky, but there were plenty of positives to take from the performance.

The girls battled right until the final whistle, created plenty of opportunities and showed great character throughout.

A performance the girls can be proud of. ⚽👏

⭐️ Under 11s ⭐️

Today was the first game back and we travelled to Chipperfield, playing these twice last year we knew they were a good side and will defiantly be challenging us.

The girls got off to a quick start pressing really well like we haven’t been away. With Chipperfield defending well the kept us goal less in the first quarter.
With the first quarter over the girls were back at it and we finally got one past the keeper from outside the box up stepped Poppy to r***e one home for us. With this happening the girls had even more of a spring in there step, however with some resilient defending from the opposition they could only keep us out until the end of the 3rd quarter where Tia went on a solo mission to grab the other.
Final quarter finally was upon us and some tired legs out there the girls kept pushing and pushing and Tia popped up again to get her second. The very shortly after Tia took matters into her own hands to go again and bagged another to get her hat trick on her debut for the team.

Great start to the season from the girls and now let’s push on.

🦌 U13 ORANGES 3–2 GOFFS OAK 🦌

THREE POINTS TO START THE SEASON! 💙🧡

Our U13 Oranges welcomed Goffs Oak to Eskdale today for the opening game of our Division Three season.

With Goffs Oak coming down from Division One, we knew this would be a good early test for the girls, and they were more than ready for it.

The Stags started brilliantly. The passing football we have worked on throughout pre-season carried straight into the game, with some excellent combinations, triangles and quick movement, while also making really good use of the pace we have out wide.

Our defence looked solid and our two forwards worked incredibly hard against a back four, something we have not really faced before.

We created chance after chance, but huge credit has to go to the Goffs Oak goalkeeper, who was outstanding and produced some superb saves to keep the score down.

⚽ The breakthrough finally came after around 20 minutes. Leah picked the ball up on the edge of the box and hit a great effort which the keeper could only parry. Callie reacted quickest and calmly tucked the rebound into the bottom corner. 1–0 Stags.

We asked for more of the same after half time and the girls delivered.

⚽ Zoe gave us our second with a brilliant individual goal, driving in from the right before unleashing a fantastic strike from the edge of the box, across the goalkeeper and into the top corner.

⚽ Zoe then grabbed her second and our third, getting onto the ball inside the box and finishing smartly across the keeper into the bottom corner. 3–0.

Goffs Oak showed their quality and kept battling. A goal with around ten minutes remaining, followed by a late penalty, brought the score back to 3–2 and gave us something to think about in the closing stages.

But the girls stayed composed, saw the game out and brought home a thoroughly deserved 3–2 victory to start their league campaign.

The scoreline probably makes the game sound much closer than the overall performance suggested, but that is football! There are no easy games in this division and today was a great first test.

Some excellent football, plenty of chances created, three goals and, most importantly…

Under 13 Blues 💙

These girls keep on getting better and better! A massive 7-2 win to kick off the new season with an outstanding performance throughout the side!

We controlled the game for long periods and played some excellent football from back to front. So much desire and heads up football across the pitch today, and every single player put in a really good effort.It was a huge day for our two new signings who fitted in seamlessly. Charlotte did well in the middle netting two great goal and Summer was absolutely outstanding between the sticks, making a string of incredible saves and proving to be a goal provider as well. We took control and the goals came fast and furious with Charlotte scoring twice, Lici Mae bagging a brace, Freya finishing clinically from a Lici Mae assist, Abi smashing one home from a quality Poppy assist, and Layla D getting herself a well-deserved goal too capitalisng on a goalkeeper spill. A couple of things to work on at training, especially meeting the ball in the air, but what a way to start the season.

Shinfield Rangers 5 - 2 SMKFC Girls Blues U12

It was great to get our season started and there was much excitement and nervous anticipation with this being our first season of competitive football.

We started off really brightly and took the game to Shinfield. We were rewarded early with a well worked goal by Faye following an accurate pass by Molllie. Soon we were 2-0 up after an indirect free kick was tapped into the path of Phoebe Callaghan who slotted home expertly. Unfortunately we did lose a bit of control and focus allowing Shinfield’s most dangerous player time to run through and score 3 times.

The 2nd half started well and we battled for control of the ball. We had a few quick breaks and had a couple of chances to level. We went further behind after a contentious decision resulted in a goal. We were visibly getting tired towards the end of the game and succumbed to a goal right at the end.

Despite the result I couldn’t fault the girls effort, attitude and determination today. It was a tough challenge against arguably the best team in the league. Well done girls! 💙🩵💙

⚽🦌 FINALLY, WE’RE BACK! 🦌⚽

After what feels like a long, long summer, five of our girls’ teams are back in action this weekend! 💙

Unfortunately, a few fixtures have been postponed, with some pitches still unplayable following our incredibly hot summer, but we’re delighted to finally see competitive football returning.

A huge good luck to our U13 Blues and U13 Oranges as they begin their league campaigns, our U12 Blues, who travel away to Shinfield Rangers for their fist game in competitive football, and our U11 Blues and U9 Blues as they all get their new seasons underway.

Enjoy being back out there, girls. Play with a smile, support each other and, most importantly, have fun! 💙⚽

🌟 A very special guest is coming to Kingsbrook! 🌟

We’re delighted to welcome Sophie Dennington to Kingsbrook Sports Pavilion on Wednesday 9th September at 6:30pm, where she’ll be speaking to our young players about her journey through football. ⚽️

Sophie is a local referee who started her refereeing journey at just 15 years old and has since gone on to become a FIFA official, officiating at the highest levels of the women’s game — including at Wembley. 🏟️

Sophie will share her story, from grassroots football to the professional game, including:

🔹 How to get into refereeing and the opportunities it can bring
🔹 What it’s like officiating at professional level
🔹 The mental side of elite sport
🔹 Dealing with pressure, setbacks and confidence
🔹 Pushing yourself and believing in what you can achieve

The evening is open to all boys and girls across the club.

Whether your child is interested in becoming a referee, dreams of playing professionally, or simply loves football and wants to hear from someone who has reached the highest levels of the game, this is a fantastic opportunity to listen, learn and be inspired.

We’re really looking forward to welcoming Sophie to Kingsbrook and hopefully giving our young players an evening they’ll remember. 💙⚽️
