Latest research from the Association of Play Industries found that playground markings and mud kitchens are the most common features in school play areas, while higher-challenge equipment like swings, trampolines and climbing equipment is found in fewer than 1 in 10 schools.

Less challenge means fewer opportunities for physical, social and mental development.

🌳 A tired strip of grass. A playground built for the whole school.

Dagnall VA Church of England School's playground used to serve just its youngest pupils, one corner of grass and an old goalpost. Working with the school, we designed a space with real challenge for Key Stage 2 as well as Early Years, plus a dedicated Corner Stage for assemblies and performance.

A timber play frame and trail, climb net, roll over bars, monkey bar log, a toddler shelter and a whisper bench, all set on new artificial grass that's safer, lower-maintenance and built to last.
