We’re incredibly proud that our Wellbeing Coach and Personal Trainer, James, has now had his Guinness World Record officially recognised as the Fastest Half Marathon Dressed as a Bird! 🐦🏃♂️
But this achievement isn’t just James story - it’s also a story about the amazing community we have here at The Hangar.
From the very beginning, our members have been behind James every step of the way, supporting both his fundraising efforts and his journey towards the world record.
In 2025, James took on a 12-hour Rowathon in aid of Tommy’s, a charity that’s incredibly close to his heart. Thanks to the generosity of our members, we raised £539 through raffle tickets and loose change alone, not including additional individual donations.
Then, in 2026, James did it all over again with a 10-hour Spinathon, raising a further £285 through raffle tickets and loose change, once again excluding individual donations.
These fundraising events at The Hangar have been about so much more than the amount raised. They’ve shown the incredible spirit, kindness and support that exists within our community. Whether it was buying raffle tickets, donating spare change, taking part in the events or simply offering encouragement, our members have played a huge part in James’ journey.
A massive thank you to everyone who has supported James and helped him raise nearly £10,000 for Tommy’s.
Together, we’ve made a real difference for a fantastic cause and shown just how much can be achieved when a community comes together.
