🏆 John Lawrence Clubman of the Year – Lucy Souch 🏆

Some people leave a mark on a club. Others help build it.

For many years, Lucy has been at the heart of Avonmouth RFC, dedicating countless hours to the club and the people within it. From being one of our original Girls coaches, to representing the Ladies team on the pitch, to volunteering wherever needed across the club, Lucy has played an enormous role in shaping the Avonmouth we know today.

The impact she has had cannot be measured by trophies or results alone. So many players have come through our pathways because of the time, support, encouragement and opportunities Lucy has provided. Her commitment has helped create success stories across multiple generations of players.

This season has seen Lucy take a well-earned step back to spend more time with her family. While her role may be changing, anyone who knows Lucy knows that Avonmouth is in her blood, and we have no doubt she’ll still be found on the sidelines, supporting the club she has given so much to over the years.

This award recognises not only Lucy’s dedication this season, but the years of commitment, sacrifice, hard work and passion she has poured into Avonmouth RFC. The hours behind the scenes, the volunteering, the coaching, the organising, the mentoring and the unwavering support.

A truly deserving recipient and a huge part of our club’s history.

🏆 Kath McGrath Ladies Coaches’ Player – Georgia Venn 🏆

After stepping away from rugby for a few seasons following her time in our U18s Girls section, Georgia returned to Avonmouth this season — and what a return it has been.

From the moment she came back, she brought energy, determination and a real fire to her game. Week after week, Georgia has thrown herself into everything asked of her, giving absolutely everything for the team and never taking a backwards step.

An absolute beast on the pitch, Georgia’s work rate is second to none. She’ll graft and graft until there’s nothing left in the tank, putting her body on the line for her teammates and leading by example every time she pulls on the shirt.

What has been most impressive is the growth in her confidence throughout the season. As the months have gone on, we’ve watched her develop into an increasingly influential player, and her performances have gone from strength to strength.

Off the pitch, Georgia is an absolute pleasure to have around. Kind, funny, always up for a laugh and, yes, occasionally guilty of oversharing, but that’s all part of what makes her such a valued member of our squad.

This award recognises not only the player Georgia is today, but the potential she has for the future. We are incredibly proud of how far she’s come this season and have no doubt she’s one to watch next year.

🏆 Clare Evans Ladies Players’ Player – Chloe Morgan 🏆

A product of our girls’ section and now an established part of the Ladies squad, Chloe has continued to grow season after season and has firmly cemented her place in the team over the last three years.

This season, Chloe has been at the heart of so much of what we do. Her kicking game has been outstanding, consistently putting us in the best positions to attack and defend, and giving the team confidence whenever she has the ball in hand.

What many don’t always see is the hard work Chloe puts in away from training. Hours spent in the gym and a commitment to constantly improving her game have helped her become the player she is today.

She’s also the type of teammate everyone wants on their side. Supportive, hardworking and always willing to put the team first. That said, if you’re on the opposition, you’ll definitely want to avoid being on the receiving end of one of her dummies or her trademark chop tackles!

Like several of our university players, Chloe regularly travels home for training sessions and match days whenever she can, showing just how much the club means to her.

Voted for by her teammates, this award reflects the respect and admiration Chloe has earned from everyone around her. We couldn’t be prouder of everything she has achieved this season and have no doubt she has an incredibly bright future ahead of her.

🏆 Sportswoman of the Year – Georgie McBurney 🏆

Some players contribute on the pitch. Some contribute off it. Georgie does both, and that’s exactly why she is our Sportswoman of the Year.

Throughout the season, Georgie has been the definition of commitment. Whether feeling 100% or not, she has continually stepped up when the team needed her, pulling on the shirt and making sure we had a side ready to compete.

A vocal leader on the pitch, Georgie has a way of lifting those around her. When heads drop, she’s there to pick them back up. When the game gets tough, she’s the one driving standards and dragging the team with her right through to the final whistle. Like so many of our squad this season, she’s regularly put in a full 80-minute shift and never taken a backwards step.

Off the pitch, Georgie has been just as important. From keeping on top of the infamous fine money to helping maintain the team spirit that makes this group so special, she is always willing to get stuck in and do her bit.

Most importantly, Georgie is simply a lovely person to have around. Supportive, positive, reliable and an absolute diamond of a teammate.

This award couldn’t have gone to a more deserving person. Congratulations, Georgie, and thank you for everything you bring to Avonmouth Claires Ladies. ❤️🖤

🏉 Women’s Top Try Scorer of the Year – Mae Falkinder 🏉

When Mae is back from university, she makes every minute count.

An outstanding player with blistering pace and an eye for the try line, Mae has been a constant threat to opposition defences this season. Time and time again we’ve watched her weave through defenders, find a gap where there shouldn’t be one, and cross the whitewash.

With multiple hat-tricks to her name this season, it’s no surprise that Mae takes home our Women’s Top Try Scorer of the Year award.

But Mae’s contribution doesn’t stop in attack. While she may be known for scoring tries, she’s equally as determined in defence. Opponents quickly learn that getting around Mae is one thing, but getting past her is another entirely. Her commitment, physicality and never-give-up attitude make her just as valuable without the ball as she is with it.

What makes her achievements even more impressive is the commitment she’s shown throughout the season. Alongside captaining her university team, Mae has continued to travel home whenever possible to pull on the red and black shirt and represent Avonmouth.

We couldn’t be prouder of everything you’ve achieved this season, Mae. Your talent, dedication and hard work have been outstanding, and we can’t wait to see what next season brings. ❤️🖤

🏆 Annie Brennan Young Ladies Player – Katie Rice 🏆

Katie is everything this award represents.

Having come through the Avonmouth pathway from Minis, to Juniors, to Girls, and now into the Ladies squad, it has been incredible to watch her journey and development over the years.

This season, Katie has been at the heart of our forward pack. Week after week she has pulled on the number 2 shirt, putting in huge performances at ho**er and never shying away from the hard work. Despite regularly being promised a rest, numbers have often meant Katie simply puts her hair back in a bun and gets on with the job, playing the full 80 minutes time and time again – a testament to her commitment and determination.

Her work ethic, resilience and team-first attitude make her an invaluable asset to the squad, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything she has achieved.

Congratulations, Katie, on a fantastic first season as an Avonmouth Lady and a thoroughly deserved winner of the Annie Brennan Young Ladies Player Award. ❤️🖤

🏉 Pauline Mogg Most Improved Player – Fran Thomas 🏉

What a season it has been for Fran.

Coming into the game this season, Fran has completely made the flank position her own and has developed into a real force on the pitch. Her confidence, determination and work rate have grown with every game, and her impact on the team has been impossible to miss.

Off the pitch, Fran is one of the loveliest people you could meet and has become such a valued member of the Avonmouth family. Her positive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to the team embody everything this award represents.

A thoroughly deserved winner of the Pauline Mogg Most Improved Player Award. ❤️🖤
