CALLING ALL FIFE SCHOOLS & COMMUNITY GROUPS! 🎃🌾

We’re launching The Buffalo Farm SCARECROW COMPETITION!

And we want your pupils, classes, clubs and community groups to get those creative ideas flowing…

Your challenge is simple:

BUILD A SCARECROW!

Make it funny, fabulous, spooky, spectacular or completely bonkers 😂 — as long as it can be securely fixed to one of our posts and is ready to take its place in our scarecrow field by 9th October.

🌾 We can even provide the straw!

And here’s the best bit…

Every school class or community group that creates a scarecrow we can display in our field will receive up to 35 FREE TICKETS to our Pumpkins, Pygmies & Piggies event, starting 10th October! 🎃🐐🐷

But there can only be ONE overall winner… 👀

🏆 THE WINNING SCARECROW

The winning class/group will receive a private behind-the-scenes farm experience in spring — meeting the animals here at Boglily AND getting a special visit to our Buffalo Dairy Farm to see another side of life at The Buffalo Farm. 🐃

So, teachers, youth leaders, clubs and community groups… WHO’S IN?!

Tag a Fife school or group below that would LOVE to get involved. 👇

Build a scarecrow. Join our October event for FREE. And you could win an unforgettable farm experience for your whole group!

🎃 Entries must be ready for 9th October (but you can drop off anytime).
📩 Message us with any questions or to arrange straw collection.

Living the Practice: 60 Years of Light on Yoga - Episode 4

The 4th episode of Living the Practice: 60 Years of Light on Yoga is now available.

This week, we’re joined by Margaret Gunn-King, one of the pioneers of Iyengar Yoga in Ireland, for the latest episode of Light on Yoga: Living the Practice.

Margaret first encountered yoga in Brighton in 1963 and went on to study directly with B.K.S. Iyengar during a visit to India in 1967. She later moved to Northern Ireland, where she established a yoga school in Broughshane and with became the first person to teach Iyengar Yoga in Ireland.

In this conversation, Margaret reflects on her first encounters with Light on Yoga, how she used the book throughout her own practice and teaching and the way her understanding of its philosophy has developed over more than five decades.

As Margaret reflects:
“I think it’s such a complete story of yoga… It gives you your philosophy and the whole background of where yoga started.”

Margaret’s story is also part of the wider history of how Iyengar Yoga took root and grew in Ireland, from those early encounters in the 1960s to the thriving community that exists today.
